Hello Duaneage, I got the R/R, thank you. I have a question though, in the schematics you sent me there is a wire hooked up to the brake light part of the circuit. My original r/r didn't have this leg, do I still need it? If so, do you happen to know where I can find the wire colors for them? Thanks, I appreciate it.

    Duaneage,
I'm in need of a known working R/R for an '83 850. I had a replacement and was told it was in working order, but now I don't think so. It seems to pass all the tests, but it just will not charge the battery.

Let me know about payment arrangements, etc. and I'll send you the $ and my address.

    Thanks,
    John.

Have a 1982 GS 1100G, looking for a R/R. What do you recommend? Also, read your background information and saw that you know speakers too. I have a pair of Allison One towers. The bottom speaker on one unit has a tear. What are my options.
    Thank you,
    Steve Kraus

    Hi,

Can you hook me up with a R/R? What is your preferred method of payment. From what I gather I don't think it matters but I have an '81 GS850G.

    Thanks,

    Craig

Hello, Duanage--I installed one of your R/R kits, and it's fabulous. One problem, though: I can't get the back brake light to work--it works when you use the front brake, so it's not the bulb. I thought I had it wired according to your info--any thoughts? Thanks much--Jim

Greetings, Duaneage.. I hope you are well.
I have been pointed in your general direction.. my '82 GS750 is in need of an RR. It is definitely toast. It is charging the battery at 17.5V! It boiled off my battery to bone dry. Do you have something applicable that you are selling? Related question.. I am an electronics design engineer, and I do power supplies. I have to ask.. can't we tackle this as a switching power supply, with very high efficiency, and no heat sinks? Hmmm.. the original is a shunt.. as it appears that the stator must deliver constant current. Is this absolutely necessary? Why not rectify, and do a DC/DC switcher to 13.8V, and be done with it? Build in a current limit?
    Thanks much,
    Chris~

BassCliff's website said you have regulator/rectifiers for sale. Do you still have 1. I have a '80 GS850GLT. Thanks, Marc

Hello, I have a 1978 GS1000 with 9800 original miles. It was my dad's bike since new. After reading for a couple of days on here I think I would like to use your mod on the r/r replacement. Mine are the seperate units as you know is there any problems with the conversion? Can you give me a response on price and availability if applicable? Thanks

You seem to be the oracle on all things relating to charging systems. I'm hoping you can help me with my 1978 GS750.

I recently purchased a new stator and regulator from ElectroSport. The regulator is what they refer to as their "Universal Suzuki R/R 1976-1980." However, according to my mechanic, the fool thing doesn't fit. I little more research and I found that my machine is early enough that it has a separate rectifier and regulator. The ElectroSport is a combined unit. Here is the unit I purchased: http://www.electrosport.com/products/product-detail-565.php

Are you able to tell me what modifications I need to make to convert to a combined unit? Can I just bypass the old rectifier? If so, do I end up with extra wires?

If not, can you provide me with one of your custom made conversions?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Duaneage,

The folks say your the guy to contact for an R/R. Maybe you can help me out with one for an '83 750T like that of cloudbreakmd's. My orignal just burnt a wire out of it.

    Thanks
    Hi Duaneage,

Do you have a r/r for my '79 GS850? I'm having issues with charging and want to try one of your r/r's. I believe i currently have the original one. I've been able to test the stator and the readings appear to be low - all 3 legs are 40-41V AC but i've been advised to try one of your r/r's.

Is there a way to test the r/r?

    Thanks!

Hey Duaneage how's it going! Just wanted to check in with you, and let you know I got the rr installed. It gave me a solid 14 volts! However, after a somewhat clumsey (long story) installation of the stock air box she won't start. I think I somehow fried the starter relay.
Anyway I'll keep you posted, and probably have more questions for you after some more investigation.

    Cheers!
