A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Got the top made, will box and get it on its way. Have no idea why the the po drilled all the holes just to cover them back up with duct tape, which I removed don’t need it. I would keep the K&N filter ifn I was you, but if not I will hang onto it.
Just picked it up a few weeks ago, it needs a complete going over but most all of the parts are there. I have a red '80 1100, but always liked the silver blue color better. I just need to find the that paint number to order the paint, thats next on the list.

Yes just pulled it out, still looking for the lid. has K&N filter. If I can't find the lid I can make you another from some scrap steel that I have around. I make armor so the lid is no challenge, if that would be alright with you. just pay shipping and what it's worth to you.

After cleaning and replacing O rings, during reassembly a thought occurred to me, that the leak was under those little hockey pucks under the float bowl. They were hard and shrunken, so I replaced them with O rings filled with rtv and let them set overnight.

I spent most of today tuning the old girl. She now idles and has snappy throttle with no hint of a leak.

Bored?? well, I retire in 20 yrs or so..can you wait?
Yes I used to, I worked the crank arm cell, just outside the cafeteria in the 101 building. Pulled the plug last July. Glad I did after 25 years, longer than I ever thought I sould stay in one place. I spent the last 2 1/2 years building my retirement home and did very little riding during that time. Have been riding just short of 49 years. If your are down this way and need a place to crash for a night or two, let me know.

Did you work at BOP? I did some training down there when I was an instructor.
15K miles is a respectable number of miles in the saddle. I'd feel good if I could find time to put in 8 - 10K. But then again, this is my first year back riding after a very long time away from it.
