DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    1981 Kawasaki GPz550: Restoration

Ed, Thanks for sending me the link on the break in article. I might not subscribe to their exact method but the GPz won't be babied once it gets on the road which brings up the question what's taking so long. I have run into some electrical problems with something called the Reserved...

Ed, I still have to figure the why the headlamp indicator light is "On" when the headlight is functioning properly. Jeff Tuttobene suggested/told me I am missing a ground connection which makes sense. . . .just gotta find it. To answer your question, I will break it in quick in the garage. IF it...

    1981 Kawasaki GPz550: Restoration

Finally found an original 81 GPz550 seat, I flipped a Honda ST1100 bag I found on C/list last year for a song and it turned into a sought after GPz550 seat. Very similar to GS1000 C & E seats but lot smaller. This was Jeff Tuttobene's GPz550 seat. I ran across his Ebay listing for...

    1981 Kawasaki GPz550: Restoration

I sat out the 2015 season sidelined with a rotator cuff tear which required surgery back in October. I can say you loose interest in motorcycles when you cannot lift your arm :) Just before I went in for surgery I sent out the entire set of Gpz bodywork to get repainted with an old codger on the...

    GS550 Exhaust Gasket Question

Hi, Can someone take a couple of accurate DC measurement of 1977-82 GS550 2V exhaust gaskets? The ones that seal between the cylinder head and header pipe. I need to know the outside diameter to determine if they are interchangeable with a Kawi GPz550. TIA Steve

    gs1000 engine rattle

GS1000 clutch baskets rattle while GS850 do not. I had no luck getting rid of the 1000 clutch rattle which is different than the cam chain rattle until I had Falicon rebuild the stock clutch hub. I replaced the nut with an overpriced APE Clutch nut. You can torque the stock one to 50 Ft-Lbs...

    Diablo Cycle: Customers Bikes

You probably already know about this site. Have fun looking at the pics which are biased towards Kawasaki triples but the GS Resource Forum is also well represented :) The prices seem to be high in most cases but they do offer complete seats for quite a few KZ1000's at around the $300 mark. Ed, Thanks for the information. Corey Clough the GPz550 forum administrator ( who has almost as many posts ) mentioned the same and posted some pictures of his cutaway valve cover.
