A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Heck for 3 weeks so far.

A few delays but I decided to touch up the electolysis with a new anode for today. It's looking good in there but I'm making sure. I'll be coating it tomorrow and then I can move on to the bodywork.

Why postal service in Canada is dying

I have nothing but good things to say about CP. Lots of times I order a motorcycle part from Ontario or Quebec and it arrives in a week. From Ab. or B.C. generally 2 to 3 days. The local staff at the Post Office are a bit persnickity but the production workers and system works well. They should...

How strict was school back in the day?

Yardstick across the knuckles, strap for serious offences, chalkboard brush in the head, then the real trouble when you got home and dealt with your parents. Not saying it was a good thing but we did learn to pay attention and respect the system.

Heck for 3 weeks so far.

Yup: This is the only wy I'll ever do this again. It's fire season here so it's a bit of a delicate operation right now. Basically there's no way I can campfire it with everything tinder dry, What I am doing is going out at 6AM hopefully before the neighbors are nosing around and I am propane...

82’ GS850g hole in piston help

In my area $700 or so will buy you a good 850 engine in a project bike. those 850's generally go a long time, I think it would be worth looking into a bad looking 850 with a good engine if you can find one. On the other hand that could be another unknown problem child. If you can rebuild it for...

Heck for 3 weeks so far.

Did you get any warpage? I don't care as I'll just fix it but curious. I'll NEVER get into this again, and when I do I'll just go straight to heat. Chuck I did a search on your heating technique a couple weeks ago but my search words didn't turn anything up. I'll put an end to this pretty soon...

Heck for 3 weeks so far.

Yup: Propane will my friend on this one i think. The chemicals have loosened what's left so it'll be quick tomorrow I think. I have some 10 gauge wire I've been scratching off what I can as well but that's hard to do and you can only see what you can see. which is half the problem.

Heck for 3 weeks so far.

This has been going on for 3 weeks so far. I think I'll conclude it this week hopefully. I was so happy to find a skunk tank, it was pretty decent but my fault I didn't notice it had a liner in it. Liner was failed of course. Ordered $125 of MEK and that hardly helped, ran $40 of Acetone...

    SH775 Regulator/Rectifier Units

Exactly. Not as pretty as the Triumph harness but it's not terrible and function is just as good.

    SH775 Regulator/Rectifier Units

Yes: I just went through that. I think that harness is about double the cost it was a couple of years ago. It is nice but gauge of wire is about 10 compared to maybe 16 gauge for the zuki harness. I have one spare setup for future but after that I'll wire my own.

    Any decent petcock diaphraghms available?

I am going to stretch the spring, I also think I am going to try soaking one of the original O-rings in wintergreen. Yes I've had probably a dozen apart and never had an issue until now. The last one I fiddled with does seal but when I walk carrying the tank fuel will slosh out, so it is...

    Any decent petcock diaphraghms available?

Yeah the o ring is riding on the diaghrahm. Dang things pull vacuum, I flip the tank off it's side upright and fuel flows out. Has to be the O-rings not sealing, tried several different housings, inspected them all carefully. Just need some new parts that aren't made of chinesium. I ordered a...

    Any decent petcock diaphraghms available?

I've just spent 2 days starting to remove a fuel tank liner on one of my 1000s and at the same time I've been fighting aftermarket junk needle and seats and a decent fuel cock for my other 1000 (good grief). Out of my 6 spare petcocks none of them shutoff correctly. I save original stuff for the...
