    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    mike is ok... years ago if a PS bike was not qualified they would start the engine...shut it off and drain the oil. make a pass and get a lower ET...hopefully enough to qualify...hehe no engine damage in 1320' with no oil..

    ray has seen this.. i myself have never seen an 82 with a large taper and welded throws.

    no shims... if a .003 will go and a .008 won't... i wouldn't break the nut loose. oh, those little nuts...if you don't get them REALLY tight they will come loose and reek havoc in your engine.

    #3 bit and a 3/8" impact has done me well over many years...i have a coffee can full of undamaged metric phillips screws.

    i always throw the cam chain down in the hole to get it out of the way when i'm done with any rotations.... then retrieve with my flex magnet.

    i'm not much on change... i bought and sold large amounts of drag bikes and parts in the early 2000's until they changed it to an auction format. hell i even paid i think 75.00 or 100.00 bucks a year to sell parts on there unlimited. i went there the other days and cringed.. maybe it's just me...

    you should be running a "st.3 jet kit". the needle's are the big deal..the shape and length.

    the VM's have rubber plugs??????????? i haven't look at the insides in so long....thought only the BS carbs had the pilot plugs... uhuh, the VM's don't have these rubber plugs...there pilot's are exposed..:D

    i believe the sounds you hear is the starter clutch from the engine running uneven. look in the boot clamping area for cuts or tears. if you don't have it....add one.. one you ask? a nice fat long cable tie to the back bar of the carbs to the frame with a little tension...with no support they...
