If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    1981 Kawasaki GPz550: Restoration

Spent more time T/S the GPz charging system this last weekend and found some interesting findings, eliminated several issues but didn?t resolve the low charging problem. First, I checked the resistance between the three stator leads and ground. The resistance value should be open; I verified all...

Disconnected the 6p connector and checked the GPz550 R/R Wednesday night The diodes checked out with the DMM per the Factory Manual T/S section reading(1.5M to 1.8 M Ohms) in one direction and open in the other. 1981 Kawasaki GPz550: Restoration

Larry, You're right, one thing at a time and if you don't do it right the bike lets you know. During the week I went over the R&R and stator wiring. The charging system is exactly like a later GS model. When I went over the wiring harness originally, I knew one of the three stator wires had...

Weekend Update 6/24/18: I don't give up, I just don't have enough time. :) The spark plug pics in #463 were the Accel (NDs) which I ran with the 32.5 pilots. I used the same plugs for a carb synchronization so they got very discolored. I decided to start from Step 1 and installed a new set of...

    Winter Project...73 RD350

Chuck, Nice find on your R5C, looking forward to following your progress. When its a runner you might upgrade the coils because R5s foul plugs pretty quickly. I had a purple & white R5A and the oil pump was running way rich.

    1981 Kawasaki GPz550: Restoration

I purchased a Craftsman 18mm spark plug socket to remove the NGK D8EA spark plug which works nicely. I have ridden the GPz about 10 miles around town. Everything seems to be working well enough transmission shifts through the gears, no engine noise, charging system charges and handles nimbly...

Thanks Roger, Larry, Ray, Steve, Corey & Ed for the support and help over the years! I took the day off and unfortunately a ran/snow mix today here in Colorado. The weekend will be nicer weather. 2018 Kawasaki ZR900RS: Hit or Miss?

Yeah the single shock is out of place. I do like the inverted forks, instrument nacelles and retro-mirrors. It's better than the Honda CB1100 retro version.

    no spark - gpz600r 1985

Never worked on that model but I think you have isolated the problem. If that 600R has a clutch/kickstand safety feature, you should have 12V to the coils when the kickstand is up & clutch lever depressed, correct? Clean those connections and verify continuity with Ohmmeter. Even w/o a manual...

    1977 Kawasaki KH400 $4000
