A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Funny, I am a big fan of Suzuki, but that Yamaha looks like the most fun and best looking bike of the three IMHO.

stainless steel braided brake lines. Tell me who you use and how well you like them. I have made my own before with supplies from Earl's brake lines, but now I want to see who supplies custom made lines and at what cost. Thanks in advance.

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

Extremely nice looking 58 Chevy Trevor. Beautiful paint. On another note, yes, I went for a ride today, but no pictures. I mostly ride out away from town, but today I had 1 errand to run when I got back to town. I was within 2 miles of my house on a two-way street when some SOB decided to...

Another morning ride today, stopped at the same place so you can see a different bike with the same jet. IMG_20220730_084846028 by Larry Alkire, on Flickr

Not real sure Dave. I'm not up on all the different models, but I think it might be a b1b bomber.

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

I got out for a little ride of 110 miles this morning. Was wearing a long sleeve t-shirt under my mesh jacket and I was chilly for most of the miles. We got down to 58? here this morning and our extended outlook for the next 7-10 days is calling for highs in the upper 90s to the triple digits...

what did you wrench on today??

Did you trim a bit off the plug wires to get to some better, cleaner wire to screw the plug cap back onto? That's a common practice to improve spark.

    Offered a (mostly)complete 1980 GS1000G for my 78 550E, what to do?

If you get it, by all means, ditch that crappy mac turn out exhaust. Mine came to me with that same set up and I couldn't wait to find a stock 4-2 system. If I ever have to change mine, it will be for a Delkevic 4-1. Lots of weight to lose with the 4-2. Yeah, if you want something to get up...

What good timing. And I must add, Bob, you are looking good. The lifestyle change is making you look younger.
  17. alke46

what did you wrench on today??

Yes it is a very good looking bike. 30 year old tires, yikes and I thought I I had it bad because the bike I just picked up has 16 year old tires. You and I should get our bikes running, then take them out on some Twisties and see who goes down first.

    fuel height non running

If doing it with the carbs off the bike, could you do two carbs at a time just blocking off the one side of the center tee so gas only goes into the two you want it to?

    GS Valve Shim Club

Apparently, the shim club hosted by some guy in Colorado has taken a different course. I sent him on more than one occasion, emails and PMs with no response. I think it is done.

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

Rich, I think you're over worrying about traveling on a 40 year old bike. Just a couple of weeks ago I trailered my 43 year old along with my 2019 Triumph (as a backup) to Kentucky and I put over a thousand miles on it and only 200 on the Triumph. The 200 miles on the Triumph was just to keep it...
