1980 GS1000S frame and parts

Stumbled across this on the GSResources facebook group. Looks like a legit 1980 Wes Cooley. Missing lots of stuff but looks like a decent unobtainable stock exhaust plus the correct frame and rear sets. $700.00.

Something seems off regarding those numbers. The '79S had a 52XXX serial number and '80S has 53XXX. That said, that frame does appear correct, although the photo is small and hard to be sure.

Yeah the numbers seem odd. It does appear to have proper foot peg mounting bracket and shift linkage as well proper foot peg mounting on right side as well. Is it close to you?

I can see it on Facebook, definitely looks like the right footpegs, the choke is in the right place for an 80 too I think (the pull up knob at the steering head...
Hard to see anything on the pipes. Weird that they look so much cleaner than some of the other parts. A lot of rust on those rearset brackets....

This is my listing and I'm happy to take more photos if needed. The frame number led me to believe that it wasn't a genuine S model. The paintwork had been badly redone years ago in blue/white but I can't figure out what the original color was. I'm restoring a '79 "S" so I did 'borrow' a few smaller parts off this one.
