DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I have a nice square wave Mig, your Mig will do a great job. Just hoping you weren't going to do it with a "stick"

The pick below would work as a truss. The wall needn't be too thick either.. :)

Kenneth_G_Rogers this is a really nice build so far. More as a general Q: How much do mono-shocks improve...handling? Traction, hitting dips and bumps etc for daily commuters?

I'm working on a GS1000 right now, it's still in the planning stages so... just wondering. Sorry to distract on your thread, friend.

If I were going to a mono shock conversion, I would grab the swing arm, the linkages and bolts, and weld the brackets to make the Suzuki Full Floating Suspension system. That is incredible. The bike of my motorcycle tracks so fantastically. Look it up. The parts can be found off of EBAY reasonably, as they don't really wear down. The GS1150 or GS750ES from the early 1980's on would work. :)

Plans for this month will be to open up the motor making sure everything is in good shape and looking for any parts i need to replace. Im almost done with the subframe design. Still making small adjustments to make sure theres enough space for all the electronics and at the same time make it as small and strong as possible. Ill updates with more photos as i get the small things done.

Screenshot_20230227-115027.jpg im leaking fuel out of the carbs only on this spot... when i first put it on i thought its coming from the float bowl, maybe the gasket. Checked it it was still in excellent condition.. then i eventually found the problem here...

16774915972186731517304132152861.jpgjust a better view... did check the fuel line and the clamp. On the clamp i struggle to see if its not coming from the back of the feul line. So far i believe its not the feul line

So im going to have to split the carbs see if its a o-ring inside there that perished. Put it back together then have fun syncing the carbs again...

What kind of carburetors are those? They are different from the 850 carbs used in the USA.

As far as I know its the original carbs mikuni carbs... my 79 gs750 also has the mikuni carbs. If not the original its the carbs i gotvwith the bike and they work... I put them on my 750 to check for leaks and well i found some leaks...idled great and reved clean... until it started pissing out petrol.

IMG_20230227_121708.jpg this is the carbs for the 850. Dont have a picture of the 750s carbs but almost identical

Those carbs are assembled incorrectly. The air screw bosses are supposed to face the outside of the bike, not inside like shown.

Secondly, Suzuki GS carbs use a center feed fuel inlet, between carbs 2 and 3. The fuel feed as shown is like that of Kawasaki KZ carbs.

Do these carbs have both pilot air screws and pilot fuel screws? If so, they are GS carbs. If they are either air or fuel, but not both, then they are KZ carbs.

Oh, and those carbs use the tiny little fuel Tee's like KZ carbs. They are made from rubber coated zinc. You will need to get a new set, since there are no O-rings on them.

Carbs laying in the garage for now ill examine them on my next off day and add more pictures. Thanks alot for the information this will help alot for when i split them and order the parts. Those are the carbs i got with the bike. Like i said as assembled in the pictures they ran good idled smooth reved clean. Just the leak that came up... the carbs have been standing a solid few years. Thats why i thought maybe it could be a O-ring. Ill uplpad pictures when i split it.

The photos show the fuel screw, but what about an air screw? Do the carbs have those too?

I dont see a air screw on the carbs no. I am wondering what these are for. I havent seen it yet. My 750 also has them. Screenshot_20230314-150801.jpg
