A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

And what is this fairing??

It looks to me like a GS1150 fairing chopped down. Is it?

I would like to know what front end is on that bike. Anyone know what it is.

you rang!? :-D

...been working too much lately,
yep! twas a 1150/EFE fairing at one point, i was looking for a minimal/cafe style fairing and wanted to keep the freight train 8in. light sooo...
jigsaw/file/sandpaper/rattlecan/homemade brackets and voila!

Thanks, my Canadian brother!
I'm following in your tracks. The fairing is cut down to almost the same dimensions as yours, with some differences in the screen. The dremmel is a lifesaver! I used the mounts from a slipstreamer windshield for the top and I'm in the process of fastening the bottom with aluminum strapping. I did a test fit this afternoon. Looking good.
The wall above my workbench has had pics of your bike pinned on since I saw your site.

Hope you don't mind copying yours, but they say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.:-D

(Well, I was going to do it anyway, but you pics provided a blueprint almost.)

glad i could be of some help!

i used the brake line attachement under the bottom tree of the forks to fasten the bottom of the fairing...are you mounting an 8in. light ?

we need pics! if only because it's winter + i'm a GS junky

Well, I thought it was an 8 inch, but I think I'm wrong. Theres a gap around the hole. I'll try to get some pics up soon.

Solo,

Nice GS!
I especially love the seat. Can you give me any details/specs on having mine modified to resemble yours?

Thanks!

all i did was: i got some foam, trimed it with a knife and brought the whole thing to an uphostery shop with a drawing i had done of what the seat should look like in the end. we choose some vinyl and weeks later...

wish i could do it myself 'cause i've had a couple done on different bikes and it seems very expensive...
