A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.
Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.
Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...
If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.
If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.
thanks motobike5000 yeah they didnt get the GSX250 in the USA from what i have found out, they got it in Canada though.
okay carbs are back together and on the bike, the cleaner did get alot of gunk out of the body and the outside is alot cleaner but they dont sparkle but i am really happy with the insides of the carbs
and guess what.............
SAME PROBLEM!
I'm going to try some aftermarket hose clamps on the intake rubbers and see if that makes any difference but no auto shops are open here today and i refuse to buy anything from repco.
i've done a plug chop on it last week and it was running lean, i've got pics but they are only phone pics. When putting the carbs on today i had abit of a jiggle with the airbox and the carbs were moving slightly, the hose clamps on the carbs are done up till they wont go any tighter but both sides of the hose clamp are touching one another in the middle, so i think they have stretched which is why i want to try some aftermarket hose clamps to see if it makes a difference.
Could explain why at idle when i spray the carbs with fluid the revs dont change but when its going at speed with afew rpms and is sucking hard air is getting past the factory clamps. I hate bikes... lol
Amanda is okay, i nodded off afew times today i was buggered from staying up all night, its our anniversary on tuesday and also her birthday so gotta get afew things tomorrow but i'm sure i can nip into the local parts store too hehe
Repco are just rip off's, i use our local privately owned parts store which is a 10 minute walk up the road, they know me by name and i get better than trade price so its all good.
till the next thing breaks.... lol
Ok i've cut the manifolds from 5mm steel plate, need to make the metal tubes and cut the holes in the 5mm steel plate to finish them, i'm not sure how i will seal the manifolds against the engine itself. I'm thinking a flat piece of rubber?
I'm going to look at finishing the painting, i'm not a fan of the gloss black so may move onto a metallic paint instead. I've got a spray gun and a compressor all i need is the paint and the thinners!
