Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

I really like the blue. Especially after looking at Joe Nardy's bike. Plus there are a whole lot of red 1100E's floating around.

Just to let you know, that harbor freight rear wheel stand does work, BUT it's hard to get on with the 4-1 and with the motor in it wants to twist and jump off the stand. Just be careful and support the front wheel, or you may have your tire off and 400lbs of bike of your legs.

I actually know a guy selling one of those rear stands. It will be very useful but I will remember what you said.

So today I screwed up. I had this Maier fairing on my watch list for a whole week, took a nap, and was not able to place my bid. Cheap too. :(

If anyone finds one of those for cheap, please let me know!

I took a quick look inside the carbs today. The jets that are in it right now are 132. Stock was 112.5 so at least the carbs have been rejetted for the 4-1 exhaust and pod filters. I didn't check the pilot jet yet though...

I went and bought that rear stand I was talking about...

The swingarm sits on the rubber pads.

So... I really like this rear stand. Very easy to use. You can adjust the rubber pad thingy to different lengths too. I did say that it was really easy but we'll see what happens when the engine and exhaust are in....

Sweet! These just showed up in the mail.

I spent 10 whole minutes placing the screws nicely for the picture, only to put them back in the bag, haha!

16 stainless steel allen bolts for the top carb caps. 16 stainless steel allen bolts for the float bowls. Then I'll go out to the hardware store and try to find some SS allen bolts for the gang plates.

Also got the CV carb kit from Cycle O-Rings. And yesterday, I bought a can of Dupli-Color Gloss Black Caliper paint. I hope this will work .

And lastly, I will need 1 gallon of Berryman's carb dip. I'll pick that up next week.

**** ME! I missed yet another eBay auction :(.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150623077777&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

The next auction that I have my eyes on will end on July 3 at 9:05 PST. This one I CANNOT miss. It is a HUGE part of the bike that I really want!

Remind me when the time comes .

Try using snipe software. I use AuctionStealer. It is free to use. Just decide what your highest bid will be and type it in. Either you win or you don't but it makes sure you don't lose because you forgot. I have used it a dozen or more times and the only time I lost an auction was when I was out bid. It also helps you avoid bidding more than you wanted to due to the emotion of last minute bidding.

Thanks,
Joe

Dude, that's like a cheat code in real life :D. I cannot tell you how many times I sat in front of the computer waiting for the auction to end with my bid typed in the box LOL!

Thanks Joe! I'm going to use it .

EDIT: I signed up for it. :)

Good call Joe, my wife uses Auction Sniper as she buys heaps of things off eBay and gets some awesome bargains by not bidding until right at that last instant.

Got a very nice set of stock shocks. I'll decide which shocks are better when I get to ride the bike.

Now this will be project for waaay later but I wonder how hard it would be to fit these wheels?

These are early 1990's Suzuki Katana 600 rims.

Front is J17XMT3.00 DOT with Metzeler MEZ1 110/70 ZR 17.

Rear is J17xMT3.50 dot w Metzeler METZ1 150/60ZR17.

Pretty sure that it has the same axle diameter. But I will most likely have to fabricate some new brake caliper mounts. And I have a feeling that the front rim will not fit into the stock GS1100 forks.....

I think a 2.5" GSXR 1st Gen 750 front wheel is all that is practical with stock forks.

My alarm clock is set for my next eBay auction. And I have a secret weapon ;). Wish me luck!

So, you got your engine now and found some money to buy parts also?

Daniel
No engine yet. And this is coming out of my engine savings! But this is too good of a deal to pass up. :)

you'll never know how many actual extra dollars the winner was willing to go! (his 'automated' limit may have been way more! )
keep at it man.
This is a great thread.
Yeah, the guy may have put like $500 . When the auction started, there was a "Buy It Now" button for $350 but he removed that in the middle of the auction. Now I'm kicking myself in the nuts for that .

Well... I suppose it's sort of a good thing. I'm gonna go get my engine this Thursday since the plan has changed.

Keep a look out for some bodywork for me!
