A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hello all!

I don't have a GS, but my other half has an '85 GS700E. In support of working on that bike, I scanned the wiring diagram from the factory manual and colorized it. Since there are probably at least three other people that still have a GS700, I thought it might be useful, so here ya go. :) Click on the thumbnail to get the full size:

The image above should be 10.25 x 7.25 inches at 600 dpi. It should print without scaling on either US letter or A4 paper.

Note that there are samples of the colors I used for everything in the key at the bottom of the diagram. If anyone finds any mistakes in the diagram (that are my fault rather than Suzuki's), please let me know.

Please feel free to grab a copy for your own use. I know BikeCliff hosts several GS wiring diagrams on his site and I would be happy for him to put a copy there as well. I don't own the copyright on the original diagram; that belongs to Suzuki.

Details: I scanned this at 600 dpi from an original paper copy of the 1985 GS700E supplemental factory manual and went to work.

For most items, like the brake light switches, side stand switch, fuel sender, etc, I didn't carry the harness color past the last connector to the item. On the bike, I think a lot of these are black wires and/or in a sleeve anyway, so it's not as critical to know what color they are.

I broke that rule in a few places: the fuse box; the ignition, dimmer, turn signal, and horn switches; and the main red and black/white leads from the harness to the battery. I feel carrying the colors "into" those items makes it easier to see what's going on, even if the wires coming directly out of that item aren't that color.

I hope this helps!
