A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Engine_Painted

Engine_Painted

Well it's all done, I have finished painting, and it's sitting in the garage with the heater on to keep her warm for the night, and hopefully she will cure and dry nicely, and all will be well, for it's insertion back in the bike...

OK enough yapping, and onto the pics....

Where on earth did you find "Karlovacko" beer?? That's from my neck of woods, Croatia (Eastern Europe) it's very popular locally but I had no idea it's been exported that far away

Oh, and the engine looks good ;)

Well, I am from Croatia, born in Zagreb, and moved to Canada.....small world ehhh,,,

And I find it in my local LCBO store, it's where we get our wines, spirits, imported beer, etc.....the local beer stores don't carry many imports....

and thanks for the compliment on the engine....

Ohhh and the Cohiba is right from Cuba.....my buddy is retired In Charge (flight attendant) and still goes there often.....always grabs me a box.....if I ask nicely...

Finally. So by the weekend you will be putting it back in the frame. Maybe I should come up early Saturday and watch you do that :)

Nice selfie too.

Psyguy, He'll probably PM you all the details but Damir is one of your tribe too and his mum in law makes damn fine Slivo, which I'm glad to say, he will share with select friends. Maybe I better offer to help put the engine in after all :)

Maybe yes maybe no....I still have to paint the part that I cannot get to, but I don't want to touch it for a few days at least, have to let it cure as much as possible, and now with the cold weather again, it's just gonna sit,,,,,for now....

your more than welcome to come early anyways, we can stand around shoot the sheit and stare at the engine...and have a few shots of Slivo....LOL

if nothing else we can get the bike out of the basement....

Looks like there are 3 LCBO stores in and around Sarnia, and as I will be there AGAIN this coming Saturday (picking up another race car), and they offer a pilsner, I'll have pick up some and give it a try.

might not be carried in all LCBO's, I have seen this first hand, you will find one thing in one, but not another.....but there are many import beers that are good, Stella, 1664, Heinekin, ohhhh and so many more...:D

Good thing I painted my engine last night....tonight I will be out with the snow blower....LOL

and to think it was Plus 5 yesterday, and today we might see up to 20cm of snow.....

Hey Spyug, I hope you got that snow blower of yours working, I think your going to need it as well tonight....

Damire, I reckon we should exchange homes for holidays... you could come enjoy mild climate and I'll have a bottle of Sljivovica ready for you, you could even ride my GS... and I wouldn't mind seeing snow again... it's been many years...;)

No problem......as soon as I retire, we can exchange for say....6 months at a time, you come here for the winters, and I take your place for the summers, you get the house, the cars, the bikes....I'll even leave the snowmobile since it's winter, you won't get the GS out of the garage,,,LOL

I have a high school buddy down under, catch up with him every couple of years, right now I don't know exactly where he is at....I should find out and see if he is near you....

You adding the gold accents to the engine?

Looking good!!

Not really sure, there is nothing gold on the bike, so I don't know, I was thinking of just doing the lettering on the valve cover, and on the one on the clutch cover, just to have that little bit of gold, and was thinking of silver possibly as well it would match more with the SS screws and brake lines and little bits of polished aluminum..

Was thinking of a gold chain, if I find one cheap enough, and down the road some new rotors with the gold inlays....but that is down the road...

I was going for the black out effect, but who knows how the end product will be.....

Thanks for the compliment...

SS Bolts

SS Bolts

Well going to dress up the engine a bit, and change out some of the more noticeable bolts on the bike with Stainless Steel Allen Cap Head Bolts....

All of this for 22 Canadian dollars....

.

Jeez, you should have gotten gold anodized bolts to keep everyone happy.

then I would have to get gold brake lines as well, and gold rims, and......

Nope, staying with the black and Stainless Steel theme....

Maybe a hint of gold just on the lettering on top of the valve cover and the clutch cover,,,,,that is enough gold....:D

Gold is expensive, I cannot afford it....:)
