If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

As per the title I will riding my GS1000 at Brands Hatch, Kent. UK on the 20th August. I have never been on a track day and am really looking forward to it also it's 20 days before my 56th birthday.

I am a member of the Bike Shed MCC and they have hired Brands Hatch Race track for the day just for members. Have a look https://thebikeshed.cc/bike-shed-moto-track-day/ but basicaly it's a day for inapropriate bikes so no sports or super nakeds.

It should be a jolly good day out. :D

What an excellent birthday present.
Make sure to take lots of pics for yourself and us to see.
The fact that it is on such an iconic track only adds to the cool factor. I got to do 6? laps on Mosport a couple years ago. Been seeing and reading about racing of all sorts on it for decades, so it was wonderful to actually turn a wheel on it.

Woohoo!

Have a blast and ride safe! Also, happy Birthday!!!

Congrats, at least you're getting the experience while you're still young!!!

Looks like a good event for newbees.
It's just as much fun for old guys like me @ 66.

Dingle Dell on a GS 1000, awesome!

Heading to the Ridge Motorsports Park tomorrow for my 1st trackday of the year.

Pretty bike! I didn't know that tank would fit on the 8V frame. The case guards look like they're using up a lot of cornering clearance. Mine are much more conformal to the covers, and I can get the bike over to about 45?, as you can now see in the Gingerman thread. BTW, I'm jealous. Brand's Hatch!

Fantastic!
Leaving the garage it is easy to tell there is a giant grin on your mug.

How sore were you the next day.:)

I did have the biggest grim all day and I did ache alot for the next 2 days..

It is a GSX 1100 et tank with the single centre mounting at the seat.

The guards did not touch down and I'm no Rossi so they do OK for me. Brands indy circuit is great fun for a complete novice like me.

Bike looks great! How did it perform on track?

It was faultless all day, I was advised to cover the speedo over to remove distraction but on the start/finish straight the tach was reading over 8500rpm and normally 70 english MPH is at just 5500 RPM so I would love to know what my actual velocity was on the day.
I would never had attempted anywhere near those kind of speeds for the amount of time on track without the salty_monk front brake conversion and the engine mods.

So, I went and done it again at 56 years old this time....

I went back to Brands Hatch on the 17th Sept for another day of fun in the sun and it was 28c which is slightly warm by UK standards.

I can highly recomend the Pirelli Sport Demons, I would have run out of talent long before they ran out of grip.

Cool you got a 2nd day in. Bet you'll be jonesin for next season to roll around.

Was this Practical Sportsbike trackday? Looks to be a Moto Guzzi Lemans in that one picture or other model?

Very nice, Bobtail.
I would be worried about those case savers touching down trying to get rid of that last little bit of chicken strips. :)
