If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

5.5 inch rim/wheel on gsx 750 E 1981mod

I've searched the forum but can't find information on wider wheels than 4,5" with the gs1100 rear swingarm. Does anyone have information about what kind of conversion I would have to do to get a 5.5'' wheel with 180 or 190 tyre to fit this bike? Sorry if this has been discussed before, plese refere me to the right thread if that's the case.

I put a 180 on my 1100es in my sig.

wound up going down to a 170 tire for more chain clearance.

Same here, 5.5" with 170 tire on GS1100 swinger. you will need to machine new spacers and go with a 520 chain and sprocket, maybe machine down the sprocket carrier and will require a front offset sprocket. You will also require the brake set-up from the wheel donor bike.

Not a simple bolt on

I have a 5.5 wheel, new Avon 180 (18") tire for sale. Comes with machinced spacer for cush drive/rear sprocket. also have new polished rear sprocket, new offset front sprocket and new front sprocket support. The wheel looks like an '83, but has been widened.

Sounds interesting, but it's the wrong wheel design.. I have the ones with the crossed spokes. Did you get an original wheel welded and widened? I'm considering doing that myself. Do you have a picture of the offset sprocket and sprocket support?

I did a 5.5" on the monoshock 750ES from 83. I could only run a 170 and had to use a 520 chain etc too.

I would recommend staying with the 4.5" as you can run a 170 on that anyway & it's less work....
