A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

i ordered up some Cruzinmages intake boots and already got a fedex pickup/ tracking from them

Heard that 🤙🏽

@chuck Hahn. Are you still using the Kawi spring coil things to the intake ducts from the air box??

I dont recall spring things. That bikes up front in one of my storage units and i havent ridden it in like 4 years or so. Just under a big blanket. To be honest id have to look at it to refresh my own memory on that one.

Word.... instead of a hose clamp, Kawi has a skinny spring clamp thing to hold pressure on the intake duct from airbox to inlet side of carb body. #11 in the parts fiche

Oh yeah....they are on mine. I was picturing the actual boot from the box to the carbs,,,lol/

How did you recognize that the rubber dampeners were worn so badly in the clutch basket on you KZ rebuild?

and do you suggest changing over to electronic Dyna ignition or just replacing point and condensers??

thanks for all the knowledge chuck

It rattled like a coffe can full of bolts at idle and ALMOST went away at speed. I thought clutch hub bolt or basket. Took all that apart and didnt see anything wrong so i figured it was the primary chain. Anyway, when i got to rebuilding the top end for new valve stem seals and valve lapping i cracked the cases and replaced the primary chain because i had read about them stretching and making a lot of noise. This led me to discover there was a lot of slop between the two halves of the secondary shaft. So it got the new rubbers and the primary chain. Took a bit of patience but i found a NOS chain off ebay.

edit.... rubbers didnt look worn away at all. I think they shrink and get hard thus letting them get loose and rattle.

ok

Thats relieving. Actually

a lot of good detective work on your part. Damn. I suspect they might shrink and harden if the crankcase is without oil for years?? Do you think That might have been the case

It sat out behind a barn in the Texas sun so long the red faded off the bike. The first thread I linked shows that result. It had oil as I recall but that doesn't negate your theory.

Well guess the rumor mills wrong...good to know. Thanks. Ill feel good for my next order.

Ordered a set of airbox boots last wednesday, and they are being delivered today! Cruzinimage is alive and well it seems!
