A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

82 GS1100E Mr Turbo Rebuild

Have you been in touch with original owner? The man who, in 1982, decided the World's Fastest Motorcycle wasn't fast enough and rebuilt an 11E with zero miles on it? What did he get it up to, 187mph?

Every major manufacturer offers a bike that does that in stock trim, but not without a radiator. :applause:

I did ride up to his house a while back and showed him the bike, he appreciated it.

Are you still going to be selling this beast? Bring a Trailer? Assuming yes, what is your desired price?

It's pending for BaT yeah, waiting on the writeup to get finished. Hopefully this week, it is taking a while but they are quite busy so I understand. I'll take what the market gives me, I have no fixed idea what it's going to reach. The more the better but I'm not going to refrain from guessing or predicting.

With BaT, don't you set a reserve price? I think you do and then wait for BaT to set up contact info between you and the highest bidder. Don't let it go too low. Just a suggestion.

You have an option to set a reserve and I have done that. It's going to meet reserve I'm sure.

Such a killer bike. I hope you get what it's worth (which is a LOT.)

What is going to be your "rider" now?

Gonna finish the Norton and poke around on that a bit while I survey the landscape. I probably should never have sold my '13 Multistrada, especially right after laying out $800 for a valve adjustment which was actually a bargain. That bike was just about perfect for me.

The auction is now live on Bringatrailer

I noted to the auction writer that the boost gauge is inop, but missed that in the review. It moves fine when I hit it with compressed air, maybe it's the amount and it's sticking. I've asked to revise.

I made a note of the previous seller's H2 on BaT - this is the bike. The only one that ever scared him, he asked the builder of one featured in an article in one of the 70s mags callled "Kings of the Street" to make him the absolute fastest H2. He put 400 on the side covers as a sleeper type mod. Hit the 1K powerband about 90 and almost lost it.

Someone got a killer deal.

I sure did when I got it for $1K :). So many of the comments were about evil handling, widow maker, death trap etc. Of course nobody had ever ridden it - it rides fantastic. I had to bite my tongue.

Evil handling? They must have gotten mixed up with the KZ900/1000. And really now, didn't this thing have time slips for 180+mph in speed runs? How bad could it handle and do that repeatedly?

Sold, waiting to hear from buyer. Got $13,550 which is OK by me.

This is what I fear every time I see a new post here. Goodbye, Mr. Turbo. Sir.

And thank YOU for rebuilding, and sharing it with us. I'll soy-ten-ly remember this a long time.

Edit - they put a 5% hold so 675$ before the person can bid, so hopefully legit. Could be some kid using parent's card though :moody:

I'm suspecting a scam bidder, no answer to Email, phone straight to generic recording, joined this month and made one snide comment on another auction a few minutes before the end.
