A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Does anyone know where I can get some inexpensive NEW rear shocks for my 82 GS1100E?

I know Progressive are the best, but can't justify the cost based on the amount of riding I have the time to do.

Thanks,
Daryn

JC Whitney has shocks for your bike for $79.98 a pair. I guess they might be better than nothing, but I wouldn't bet on it. But they're new and inexpensive.

the 83 gs1100E i bought says progressive on the springs do i have the progressive shocks you speak of? im not sure what the stock units look like

The stock shocks had a damping collar around the top of the shock body numbered 1-5. Progressives don't have this. I can't tell for sure without seeing them or at least a better description. Sounds like you have Progressive something though.

well they are progressives, on the shock under the springs it says progressive. who makes these? does anyone know there web site?

thats them 12 series. (the all black ones)

also my clutch basket says EBC on it, but i cant find any info on it. anyone have any info? also on the accell coils :( i dont know awhole lot about moding bikes.

Is that $159.00 each, or a pair ? How much are the springs ?

That is for a pair of shocks, then you need the springs at $63.03 for a pair. Grand total for a pair of shocks is $222.13.

Do you guys know if the 81 came with progressive style fork springs? The tops of my fork springs are wound tighter than the bottoms (not by much) and seeing as I have progressive rear shocksI was thinking I have a new pair up front too.

Thanks, Steve
