A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

93 gsxr usd 750 forks?

first timer

Forum Sage
are these the forks to swap in with the length i need, or are they to short, are the 93/92 gsxr 1100 forks the holy grail forks? it's for my 78 gs1000

-ryan

I used the 93 GSXR600 forks. The 600 and 750 had the clip on bars under the top triple tree. the 1100 forks clip on's were on top of the triple tree and I think shorter, Don't know that for fact though. Don't know if it matters but the 93 600 USD forks work like a champ on my 81 GS1100E.

i am looking for maximum ground clearance and best lean available, no drag bike for me.

if that helps people know what i am looking for

Hi First Timer, the GSXR1100 L, M & N (90-92) extended are 745mm from the top of the fork (not counting adjuster assembly) to the axle centre and the WP/R/S 1100 are a little longer at 770mm to accomodate for the top mounted clipons. Note that the GSXR 750 and 1100 USD outers are different diameters. e.g the 750 underslung clipons will not fit on the 1100 legs and the top yokes are different diameters. Not sure if the 750 clipons have enough meat to machine bigger. I am not sure about your GS, but to maintain standard ride height for my Katana 1100 I had to extend a set of WP/R/S 1100 legs by 80mm. Don't forget to allow for the smaller diameter front wheel and the much lower profile. I hope this helps.

the 1100's are 52mm top and 56mm bottom.

a set of zx clipons will fit so you can mount them under the top triple. I had a set of 1100's and zx cllpons on my first kat.

I have a set of 92 1100 forks here and they are 29.5 inches. I believe the 95 1100's were the longest.
