Accel ignition coils any good? 3 ohm vs 0.7 ohm???

Has anyone used Accel brand ignition coils? I see they have two different 4 cylinder motorcycle models, both advertising for use with points or CDI ignition. One is 3 ohms, the other is .7 ohms. What applications would you use a .7 ohm coil, and does it make much of a difference? I know that Dyna makes the green 3 ohm coils because that's what the oem Japanese manufacturers originally spec'd for their oem coils. What is it that makes the 3 ohm resistance critical? I assume using a Dyna S ignition, one would want to stick with 3 ohm.

Is 3ohm the resistance that the points& condenser need to see to trigger the coils properly?

There's an accel 140404 kit on ebay for $80, but .7 ohms, probably not compatible???

I was also looking to buy a set of 3 ohm Accel coils from a GSR member. They will be a nice vintage speed parts addition to my primarily vintage performance oriented 1977 Rickman CR900 powered by GS750-894cc road racer build. The only modern appearing parts going on the build are essentials like CBR900RR rotors and Hayabusa front calipers (and only the best modern bias ply tire designs on some vintage 3.50&2.50x18 D.I.D. rims). RF900R cartridge forks (shorter/adjustable bandit forks) look just like GS forks, so only the front brakes will be obviously modern. High end suspension front and rear and speed parts all around will make this one mean twisties machine.

The Rickman is going to look just like this when done (but GS750-894cc engine instead of this Z1), same fiberglass tank cover and solo seat tail section:

But with a Kerker System K aluminum muffler can and header and custom mid pipe.

I might go for Rickman style 1/4 fairing like this as well:

How about reliability and fitment on our bikes? I'm looking to get at least one pair for the Rickman CR/GS, but possibly a 2nd pair for my GS750. I currently have some "Dynamite" Green 3 ohm Chinese coils on my GS.
I see the new Accel coils are also made in China.
Any idea if the Dynatek green coils are also made in China?
I did see a pair of Accel's years ago at the local vintage Japanese motorcycle salvage shop with one coil labeled as having a weak spark.

Chuck, I've used the Accel coils on my 1100 for the past 20 years. The only problem I had was when riding in the rain. (Coming home from Mid-Ohio) I contribute that to the 20 year old plug wires. If you can get a good used set I would say go for it, but if you're buying new I'd say check out the Dynatek coils. There less expensive and just as good in my opinion. I just purchased Dyna 3ohm green coils, matching Dyna plug wires, and a Dyna S electronic ignition for my 1000 all for $290 from Z-1 Enterprise.($80 less than at Bike Bandit) Replace it, Set it, and Forget it.👍

Points systems typically desire 4-5 ohm coils, whereas electronic ignition GS bikes typically desire 3-4 ohm coils. I'm not sure about all the particulars but as I understand it using coils of too low a resistance can cause damage to the system.

.7 coils are for a dyna 4000 SP ignition and super hi rev range (above 8K) -- 3 ohm coils are a do-it-all type. accel or dyna are a good upgrade for oem/dyna S - and will give better quality spark 6K~8K rpm

the primary resistance are relative to saturation time - saturation time is how long it takes for your coil charge up to zap a spark-
