A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

  • In order to help others find info on a particular bike, be sure to put the year, make or model of bike that you are asking a question about, in the Topic Title. This will allow people to pass by posts they have no interest in.

Have you ever riden a KZ650? Kinda curious about the power compared to a GS650(E)?
I've seen a few of em in my area for reasonable money.

Not sure about the zuke 650, they were a little later, but the GS 750 was slightly faster than the 650 Kaw. but the 650 Kaw was a lot faster than the GS 550..... Just what I remember.

I had two

I had two

They go okay and are probably just a little slower than teh GS750. Faster than teh GS550 for sure. One even had a 710 bore kit and ported head and KZ1000 carbs.

FWIW - They were a lot slower than the 750E, as my passenger & I smoked one easily back in the days of wild youth. Not even close.

64 HP apparently.
Not bad for a 1976 engine design.

You bike of the day had
72

So all told it was damn close in performance and maybe that guy you passed just did not know how to wring out the power that was there.

I had a 78 kz 650 & 77 gs 750 & 79 gs750e(& a 73 z1) back in that period. The 650 was a fine bike w/ grat pwr. Super wheelie bike. My 77 750 was far superior handler. Faster too, go figure. I ran a 12.71 with the gs. No et w/ the 650. I would guess 13.10 ish

I had one back in 79-80. It could NOT out run a crown vic police interceptor :-# :o.

How do you know it wouldn't outrun a crown vic police interseptor????? Thanks Notz, I needed my memory josseled. The 750 wasn't a "little faster" than the KZ 650, it was just "slightly slower" than the KZ 900

That's a nice 650, they really are a nice looking bike
Wish it was a little closer to me, all the ones over here are cafe/bobber attacked

Would not be to hard to turn it into something like this
