Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

If you want some help cleaning out the garage, I would take that Giant hanging on the wall:cool:.

Your garage looks perfectly normal to me.

Picked up this thing last week. Yeah, I know it's not a GS and I probably could have picked up decent one for what I paid for it. The wife got one too. It was actually her idea to upgrade bikes because I'm usually too cheap. Having fun riding it even though it's not very fast, at least uphill that is. Put 85 kms on it so far, my GSs are jealous. Next picture will have a GS in it ...I promise.

I decided to take a ride over to the coast Monday to see a recently found childhood friend from I was three years old. We hadn't seen each other since I was about 11 (we think?) So down the Klamath river I go.

I was about 230 miles (4 1/2hours) to his house. I took a few pictures, but nothing spectacular.

Nice see my old friend for a few hours. Got a late start back and It wound taking me 6 hours to get home, arriving at 10:00pm. It was the best night ride I've ever had. Full moon, new ADV Monster LED bulb and a clear face shield make all the difference in the world. Total of 460 miles in the day and 10 hours of riding time. Well, that includes 1 hour waiting for road construction escorts. The speedo drive died about 100 miles from home. Speed limits are only suggestions along the river anyway,.....I think?:stupid:

If you want to travel to the left coast and ride it back I'm sure we could make a deal. Only has about 20 miles on it...

What a shame, I guess it is your garage queen eh? If only I was closer, we would be talking more seriously about the Giant.

Speaking of which.....Meet the new additions to the bobgroger garage. Went to look at some parts at kurt11234's house. He had a clutch basket and nut I was interested in, as I looked around I saw more and more I wanted. Ended up making a deal for everything Suzuki in the garage. A 81 1100e, an 82\83 frankenbike, enough parts for another bike, and a box of OEM 81 parts. 81 has potential to be very nice, good stock exhaust. He's buying a new FZ09, My garage is beyond full. What do I get rid of?

I wore a down jacket all day. Almost took it off as I approached Redding in the central valley'

Compared to any landscape around here, it is spectacular.

Thanks for posting.
I planning on seeing your area for myself around mid August. I bet it looks fantastic.

So is that Hwy 96? Have you ever taken the road from the Sasquatch in Happy Camp to Grants Pass?

I ride that road a couple of time a year. I thinks it's a little over 200 miles for me to go to Happy Camp, then to Obrien, to Grants pass and then down I-5 to my house. There is a little road that can take just before Grants Pass, that I've yet to try, that might offer a partial reprieve from a little bit of freeway. Nice ride!

I remember riding that road with you Charlie, was pretty warm that day.

V

I was told that it hit 93 the day before. We've had a couple of days in the low 80's. Mostly 60's right now. I left the house at 8:30 and by the time it was to get warm I was on the coast, which is cool. When it's hot, you just turn up the A/C control on the right hand side of the handle bars. A good twist gets it blowing good on a 1100g.

I recall you saying you might be out this way sometime this summer. I can show you some of the very few curvy roads (amoung all the straight ones) and maybe a couple with views of the big lake.
sending PM shortly

Went for a 375 mile jaunt today. Rain threatening but only rode through maybe 15 minutes of light drizzle total there and back. If I'm not mistaken, I got 52 mpg on 90 ethanol free on the way there, and 40 on 10%-92 on the way back. Rode a bit harder on the way back. Went over North Cascades Hwy 20 from Bellingham to Winthrop. 188 miles when I filled up 3.6 gallons, hadn't hit reserve yet. Not bad for a 3mm over big bore. Weird when I got back I put 4.6 @187.
Was nice to get a long ride in, the pass just opened the day before.
