DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

................. however 19lb is considered average for a decent road bike these days.

19lbs and what?....$ 1900 $ 2900
I think my daughter's IronMan bike, just the wheels might cost that much (I learned to quit asking years ago).

.

I did get out for a mo'cykle ride yesterday afternoon. Two hours.
Well, only one hour if consider the 15 minute stop at local rugby match, and 45 minute to throw a quick 9 of disc golf.
ANyway, main point of posting is to say that I did go for ride and purposely did not stop to take any pictures.
Just posting that in case some of you might think that was not possible.

Saturday was going to be an opportunity for a 5 or 6 hour mo'cykle ride, but then revised plans to have the grandkids overnight and for the day. That opportunity will take over about any other plan.
And, 5 year old grandson and I went for a bicycle ride together.

That event is one of the top events of the summer for me.
So, that is a significant "who went for a ride" for me, anyway.

I ride a lot of miles on a bicycle every year. Probably around 4,500 or 5,000 miles. Not going to get that number in this year due to the fact that I broke my femur in April. And yes, I broke it riding my bicycle. Here is my time trial bike from my ride yesterday. And "Redman" is right, the wheels do cost that much. I have done one Ironman distance triathlon and if my leg comes right will do another in a few years.

WOW!
One of them carbon bikes I'm sure, like 5-6 lb?
Broke your femur in a bicycle crash? Must have fallen off a stone mountain, wow.

Justin, depending on how much I want to bundle up, I'm usually able to ride thru October at least.
Tonight is an absolutely beautiful fall riding night - warm cloudy and humid - the fall warmth that promises rain and invites one to get a ride while they can - A limited opportunity of sorts.... I sold an engine instead...

Bill, yes I may ramble a bit, but I think my thoughts may be slightly more organized..... I enjoy reading about and sharing the thought process that goes along with a ride. Or maybe its work creeping in, where everything needs to be explained..... or explained away. I also generally enjoy Burnt Kitty Forge's posts. He is one of the few I've seen here that can ramble on without being defensive about what he writes when questioned.

Rk, that is a wild looking bike. You know you're a serious cyclist when you pay more fora bicycle then an old GS:) (just a guess)

Fall Foliage is starting in... Bit damp (misting in the mountains) but good day for a ride through the Green Mountain National Park...

Gorgeous fall colors Jedidiah!
Frost too already? WOW, you're about 4 weeks colder than Southern Michigan. Looks like you'll shoveling snow by Nov. 1st!

Sounds like it has a pretty slick gearbox.
Was this at dusk?
Must feel like a bicycle, weight wise, compared to the Connie.

It's a feather weight yes but it handles VERY VERY well.... So that and the looks is why I bought it.

Bike is stock minus the 2nd throttle removal and 13T setup. It's a Zuk the tranny is actually very nice.

Not sure, My case for the Go-Pro is air locked and the port for the Microphone is completely sealed off. It use to rattle horribly but I fixed that by taping the slide mount with electric tape... The sound quality increased there too.

One of my better captures!

13T instead of....?

I was thinking that Sprocket Mountain must be named after, maybe, Ol' man Ebeneezer Sprocket.
Oh.... okay, I see.

Interesting road.
