DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

13T instead of....?

I was thinking that Sprocket Mountain must be named after, maybe, Ol' man Ebeneezer Sprocket.
Oh.... okay, I see.

Interesting road.

Intersting vidio, although speedo blocks view of the road.

15 Tooth (Stock).

I made the video to capture how a TU does with a -2 front sprocket... Did pretty well. Not bad for a 250cc single!

I see where people go up 1 for better highway revs. Is the sppeedo drive off of the front wheel?

Jedz, ever ride up the twisty end of the road to Mt. Greylock? A video of that would be cool. :encouragement:

it's become my custom to ride to niagara falls at this time of year to do some bikin and hikin. this time i went north a bit then turned west planning to come out somewhere north of the falls and explore more of the niagara river gorge.

another gsr member from the area had posted this culvert near medina, ny where the erie canal goes over the road. i decided to find it and, without the help of maps or anything, zeroed in on it. had to rev the motor while in the tunnel of course.

here's the canal. the culvert is directly below the information plaque. weird.

i got to the river near the niagara power project which is a huge and amazing engineering feat worth it's own post. maybe next time.

here is the length of river i hiked. started south on the trail at the top of the cliffs then down into the gorge to loop back to the beginning. lots of stairs to climb.

i watched the whirlpool jet boat toy with this part of the rapids. i've gotta ride that boat someday, that looks like fun.

this is that same spot from down in the gorge. pretty rough.

then back to the top. i was a little winded i gotta admit. i'd been standing on the rocks in the lower left of the pic about ten minutes earlier.

the ride home was exhilarating. south from niagara falls, over the grand island bridges, and through downtown buffalo. traffic was stopped up pretty good. i decided to do this "lane splitting" i'd heard of. did it for about 5 miles. i even passed at least one cop. raced a guy on a victory for a while too. home alive, great ride.

Eli, Thanks a bunch for the pictures. Its been 40 years since I've been through your area and these shots make me want to hurry back. cg

Rode to work a couple days in last couple weeks (but no pictures). Seem to ride to work more in fall than do in summer.

Had an other before-sunrise-ride this morning (Saturday) on ride out to breakfast.
Went early to make for more of a ride.

After that I sett off and followed my front fender out into parts of I seldom go to.
Farmland, flat and mostly straight roads.
But saw this off in the distance, that have seen from afar many times, out in middle of farmland,
Wandered around to find a way up next to it.

Sign on fence said about FAA and used for safety of air traffic (and penalties for tampering).

Ah, I quess this all is something for keeping track of tkent02.

And somehow, I got the idea, that I should not try to get in there.

Then went about riding around somewhat aimlessly....
... at each intersection deciding which way to go....
.... and ran out of pavement ... bbut was good hardpack and smooth, so continued on

found a road hazard that have not had to deal with before

Wasn't the greatest riding weather yesterday in the northeast but I really enjoyed riding in the rain. Makes you a smoother rider for sure and that's what I was after. Definitely was more than enough grip to do +20mph above the speed limits.

Thank's HJFISK for the ride.

Wow!
Pretty spectacular scenery and the Kawi looks nice too,
what's the wet weight full of gas compared to the little TU bike?
