A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

Feeling a lot like spring now.

First day of Spring.
Just 40degF and 15mph wind.

Got bikes out for garage spring cleaning.
Did air up tires.
Did start the GK.

But I had been out in cold last night and a couple other times in recent days, and just didnt feel like it today (which kinda puzzles me).
Should be able to find a 45-50 deg day for a March ride.

Still about 15cm of snow and icy roads here. But I have high hopes for the near future. After all it is officially Spring!

Yesterday's 40 degF felt cold, maybe cuz was windy.

Today 46degF today and calm.
Did go for ride.
All suited up, out for over an hour, and didnt get anywhere close to cold.

Went into town and Stopped by beach, just cuz this time of year can get in the campground close to the pier, and is not at all crowded.
THen went for ride out of town.

By time got home it was near 50degF

Said goodbye to my youth today and bought a proper Dad-bike.

Still have a Hayabusa to pose on so at least I have that going for me....

20230326_153339~2.jpg With the warmer weather yesterday(50? up to 62?), I was finally able to go for longer ride. About 225 miles.

When I got home I noticed that my shoulders and neck were a little achy. I think that will go away the more I ride.
I hope so, because I'm going on a 6-7,000 mile ride in May! Ending at the Brown County Rally then home.

Trevor had nothing at all to do with that, right?

Because he wouldn't sell me his high-miler at a deep discount? Maybe. ;)

More to do with the rave reviews that the bike is getting though, plus a personal rave review from my friend John in Australia (who is the current owner of my old '82 Katana 1100). There was also the constant prodding from my mid-life body which just couldn't take any length of time leaning over the bars of a sport(ish)bike anymore... the battle between my teen-brain screaming "HAYABUSA!!!!" and my neck and back muscles just screaming was an epic one. I guess I'm finally mature enough to tell my brain to grow up. Just don't tell that to the Hayabusa that survived the weekend's garage purge.

And i quote...."i'm just window shopping" :biggrin-new:
Congrats on the new ride.

Ha! That day I was... it was just an excuse to ride the orange 'Busa and who doesn't like looking at pretty classic-style motorcycles? It did reinforce the fact that despite the top-box and touring screen I'd just installed on the bike, I wasn't going to be able to actually ride anywhere distant on the thing... growing old isn't for the faint of heart. Or back. I'd been making excuses to not ride over the past number of years but the truth is that I just didn't have the right bike to comfortably pile miles on... the new Katana was ergo-friendly enough but its tiny fuel tank limited its use, and the other bikes just wrecked my body before I could actually get anywhere.

Now I'm going for a ride. The sun is shining, I booked the day off of work and I installed new heated grips on the GT last night that I need to test out. :onthego:

Headed out of work a little early today. It's AZ Bike Week, and I'm taking the Beemer up to Scottsdale. Billy Idol is performing tonight, so I am looking forward to that. I've been going to Bike Week here since 2006 and still enjoy it for all sorts of reasons, from seeing all the cool motorcycles, chatting with industry folks, enjoying food and drink with friendly people, and the music. Some of my favorite memories from concerts have come from this event.

Got out up island for lunch today...took the k1300r to try out my new ugly top case....got some big trips planned this year...headed to Moab, Grand Canyon, Vegas and California coast in May on my GT the top case is a 47L Givi that I have installed racks for each bike to take the case.
Taking the k1300r to Ontario again in July...

Poutine Brisket

No ride today. Or yesterday, last week or last month. :( Working an insane amount of hours on jobs and on my house. Hopng April will be the last month of this nonsense. I just keep moving the battery tender from the GS to the FJR in hopes of getting out soon. The battery died a while back on the GS after sitting for a month. I opened the choke, rolled 30 feet to the end of my driveway and popped the clutch in second. Started right up. Only rode a mile or two though, just to the house we're renting.
