A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

Well..... I went out for a little ride tonight...I got caught at a red light on the highway. First in line. I got into it a bit when the light changed.....Nothing crazy, just a bit more then normal to hear that lovely GS sound. Then I saw silhouetted in an oncoming cars lights.....
DEER! Grabbed the brakes and scanned to see if he had any friends in tow.....clear....It wasn't close enough to soil my drawers, but if I took off hard from that light, it may well have been disastrous. A mile down the road I saw another on the shoulder. I headed home at that point....

Yup, we had one crossing the road in front of us at 4:30am the other day on our sunrise ride. Always watching out for those varmints.

Went out for a few hours on the GS650E. Checked out the countryside with my wife and stopped at an old car/bike hop along the way. The red one on the right was a '63 Honda 305 "dream". My first bike was a '65 Honda 305. Last pic is a '39 Harley.

Went out yesterday to collect an ebay item for Mrs Cyrano and planned a meet up with some old friends.

This is me waiting for them (I was in the wrong car park)

Found them and their Triumph America.

Roads and motorways were busy and full of roadworks, but even a bad ride is a good ride.

On the bypass I saw a lost and confused looking West Highland Terrier. Traffic was heavy and he was darting in and out causing all sorts of swerves and hold ups as drivers tried to help or at least avoid killing the poor thing. I got sucked in and started doing illegal and highly dangerous stuff but couldn't get near the Mutt. The adrenaline was fairly pumping when a small voice said get out before you cause something much worse. So I left, pulse pumping in the helmet.

Rode a monster that makes the Dragon look like a green iguana today, the Devil's Highway. 90 miles, 425+ turns.

So, we get 75% of the turns on that road done before the 10th mile at Deals Gap.....What do you do for the other 80 miles? :D *wink, wink*

Actually, I have wanted to take that road, but not enough to travel all that distance to get there. All the bikes I would want to use there would not be good to use to GET there!

Today I find myself camped in La Veta, Colorado and while my wife attends a quilting workshop, I have time to go look around the area. Here is my trusty guard dog, Bella in the carrier on my KLR at the summit of Cuchara Pass.

You get those 300 turns done in a very short time. Add another 120 or so with multiple thousand foot drops, no guardrails and a total descent of 6000 feet and you get an experience that wrings you out in a way the much shorter Dragon simply cannot. The Dragon is an amazing piece of road, but the 191 is simply wicked.

My co-workers loved that picture Glenn, she's got a short hair herself. Laughed at the elevation, poor Bella must have been panting...ha,ha..she looks as though she's smiling pretty large.

Lol...you think? We have had three days of rain (and that wasn't much) since some time in April. Everyone thinks it rains here all the time, funny.:) Forecast is for a very dry and hot summer.
