DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

It's way down here. It sorta funny to me that when I ask Google for directions from one end to the other, it tells me to go around. I had to select the road itself as an alternate route.

Now that is downright hilarious. Where you took that road, I came west on 92 out of Stearns then turned north into Monticello over the 4th of July weekend. I'll have to head back down there now (besides, I liked 92)

Finally got out for a nice ride this last weekend. We rode up to Cloudcroft and on over to Sunspot. During our ride through the White Sands Missile range, I notice I kept loosing speed. Bike was running great no missing or nothing. I then took my hand off the throttle grip and noticed it had separated into. It was a two piece grip from the looks of it. Anyways, pulled the outside part off and was trying grip the inner piece, wasn't working too good. Got into Alamogordo and stopped at the Yamaha dealer. Found some sport grips, installed them and we went on about our merry way. Gonna have to replace those as well, they aren't thick enough for my hands. Was a nice ride all in all, heat wasn't an issue either. Forest was nice and green from all the rain. 100_1403.jpg

Go out once or twice a week to a giant parking lot to keep my sharp turn, swerve, quick stop and slow speed maneuvering sharp. Keep the bike loaded helps train in any circumstance. Grinding Pegs of course but working on throttle control though the turns, it's allot of fun. I get this 700lbs bird right over...

Brought the camera with me today...

As always Jedz, cool pics!:)

Took a late night ride to one of my quiet spots of contemplation, and well......contemplated. ... While there, 2 Screech Owls could be heard in the nearby trees. Very cool to hear. A short but nice little jaunt...

i had an owl go just over my head while riding the other night. thought it was gonna hit me and ducked just in case. i really wasn't expecting to see a bird at night...

Night riding would be the best if there was no wildlife darting out at you... I went rhe long way home last night 30ish miles.

Interesting, I recently read a 10 lb Parrot rifle was used at Fort Abercrombie (on the Red River of the North) during the Dakota uprising in 1862....thinking "that's a pretty big rifle" but you've found the BIG one!

That plaque was only added 3 years ago, very interesting info, and I'm glad somebody payed to do that.
I thought this gun was a moster infantry piece dragged around by horses, but no it's a naval gun.

I hear there are some Gorgeous roads out there in MI... Might need to make that a stop on my ride out to the Brown County Rally next year!

It's a goal on mine to ride to your area and find some relic's of mine in a graveyard in Southern Michigan. Nice pictures!

A few, and far between, but can point out some. Will be a bit out of your way, unless you come thru Ontario.
And you would be missing SE Ohio, which is much much better.

Near 90, and somewhat humid today (*),
so said I was not stopping for any pictures.

But did.

But didn't wait for it to come out of shell and resume its trek across the road, which would have been a better picture.

* that is, one of the hotter, most uncomfortable days of the year so far.
I know, I know, sounds like a nice spring day in Texas.

The younger son wanted to take a scooter ride around the block. I start, shift thru the gears, then he takes over....until its time to stop.....
