A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

95 degrees today and my group decided it was time for a swim. We made our way south from Eugene on Sears Road, past Cottage Grove reservoir and through a series of forest service roads we finally ended up at Canton Creek off Hiway 138. Beautiful small waterfalls and pools about 10 feet deep to swim in.

Overall a beautiful ride, about 175 miles total. Another fine day in the Willamette Valley. Wish you were here.

That looks like a great ride.

So that Old Hickory place pretty good? I often wonder what it's like when I drive by but I'm rarely in that area around lunchtime

Did you wind up in Texas Redman?
haa haa
no, here just a few miles out side of town, in a park along the river and a bayou.

No, but have been in Texas where there are places with bridges over creeks that look like they expect the creek to rize and run over the road on occassion. First clue is the big concreete aprons and the post with foot mark graduations going up about 12 feet.

See ya, the day after tommorrow.

That pretty much describes east Texas. They are probably taking advantage of all of that about right now.

Well, not today, but last week. Couldn't get around to upload a picture until now.

After a hefty Friday evening with lots of booze and friends, didn't bother with preparing a breakfast – hopped on the bike instead, bought some snacks, drove up a hill and nibbled away in the sun.

Looks nice! Where are the mountains?

After we finished the morning ride to the Overlook restaurant during the rally on Friday, I managed to snap this picture of Charmayne in front of the bikes. I had no clue what I actually saw though until I got inside and started reviewing the phone. She sure was hungry that day:

Tourist season is not quite here yet so the Niagara Parkway was empty today.
Ended up at The Mather Arch in Fort Erie. A monument representing the good relationship between the U.S.and Canada.
The Peace Bridge in the back ground heading over to Buffalo.

Had the privilege to ride one once around town with a Staintune (sp?) 6-6 or was it a 3-1-3 can't remember.
What a fine note that thing put out, just doing a loop around town under 45 mph.

After another grinding day at work, and a frustrating home project after, I got out for a ride tonight. Nothing worth photographing, but it was nice to get out, get unwound, smell the cut grass and my favorite late spring scent- honeysuckle. The inviting, warm, humid, night air was an added bonus.

Did a 100 mile trip on my 1100L today, got a bit wet on the way home. Need a new fuel line, the old one pinches shut and cuts off the fuel. All in all a good day.

Rode into Grand Rapids last night (Summer Time Blues, Tommy Castro).
Took a road that goes along the north side of the river.
Told myself that I was not stopping for pictures, have been on that road many times, have lots of pictures already. (and, scheesch... am not done posting pics from weekend Brown County trip.)

Going thru one of the marshy areas, there was some huge Blue Herons(?) Great Heron(?) close to the road, with heads poked up higher than the vegetation, real close to the road.

U-Turn.

Bike parked in bicycle lane, I had to stand in road, dodging some traffic. Mean time the birds had all stepped further away, these two still in picture frame.
As I am getting back on bike, I see there is a sheriff car up near the next intersection, doing a three-point-u-turn to head my way. I get underway and nod to him as I am pulling away.

<< also have a "GS Sighting" to post. >>

Redman, those birds don't look like the Great Blue Herons I see around here. I noticed that the Sandhill crane breeds in your area and the thing is, I saw a pair last strutting along around here with their new chick last week. Nice picture.
