A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Only riding I'm doing too... Cold even for VT standards in December (thinking I was riding this time last year).

But with the new snow tires, This S coupe (despite being RWD) IS a BLAST to Drive in the snow!

Not really missing the bike this winter with the upgraded cage...

Winter will get here eventually but until then it's great riding weather. I finally had a chance to explore the volcanoes just west of town.

A friend said his dad's senior prank was taking tires to these volcanoes and liting them on fire. It must have been a sight to see smoke from these dormant cinder cones.

Not much to see to the west except a tiny airport and the parking area down below.

To the east though, towards Albuquerque, the Rio Grande valley looks beautiful from here. The valley is sinking and the mountains rising up from the rift lines on both sides. No wonder I can't scale those mountains like I used to!

I tried to ride to the top of the Sandias today but there were patches of ice on the road. Maybe next time!

Think I'll give those heated grips a try. That will sure beat grabbing the engine head for a little heat.

Nice change of scene for sure!!! I'm with Ed on that!

No snow, Now salt, No sand... I'd ride all day....

Enjoy. I'm with Bill, is there any traffic out there??? I may need to make that a destination. Some day...

Thanks for the share Burque!

Shouldn't that license plate start with "NCC"?

Haha, yeah theres a little traffic on Atrisco Vista Blvd but this pic was the entrance to the Petroglyph National Park. A few other cars yesterday but not at that moment.

Some of the roads here remind me of that 80's movie The Comet. Everybody got vaporized by a passing comet unless they were lucky and slept in a metal shed or something. But trust me, there's plenty of traffic and I have to look for the empty spots.

After some 18 degree weather, it went up close to 80 degrees yesterday. My son and I took a 70 mile ride timed to get home before it rained again. It's back down to a high of 37 degrees today so I don't know when it will be nice riding conditions again, but that's the weather in this area. We don't get a real winter but as long as it stays clear and above 20 degrees riding throughout the winter is possible down here in Newport News Va.

Thats exactly why I wont put mine away for the winter. It's chilly for a bit but dry roads at least. I would love to ride with my son or even one of my step sons. Someday....maybe.

More sad news, another one of our group riders here went down last Thursday. Not good news, he sustained massive head trauma and was in surgery for four hours. Still in a coma though struggling to wake up some. No one is really sure what happened, only one wittiness and he is the one that looks like caused the accident. We are not sure what happened, all we know it involved someone pulling a trailer of pipe and drove right in front of him. His head smacked the trailer and had to be airlifted to a level 1 Trauma center in El Paso. We don't know how fast he was going or much of anything else. He had just left a small bike repair shop and 100ft later and no helmet or any other gear.

I'm sorryMRBill....what's with all the no helmets? For Christ sake.

The Harley mentality I guess, 3 of of them are Harley riders. We had one rider on a Goldwing go down a couple months ago, he had his gear on, He had to buy a new helmet because his old one took a pretty good hit on the pavement. Rung his bell some and got a headache though walked away.

I hate to say this but I find it hard to show sympathy towards someone that doesn't have the good sense to at the very least wear a helmet. How can an adult make a decision like that. Just stupid imo.

Have not been on a bike in two weeks! Killing me!!! Hopefully this week I'll get out.
Where are you average temps at these day? It's been Very Very cold for VT lately. Sub -18' C every night... Look forward to see some more DR adventures!

BTW Merry Christmas to you and the family!

Got out this morning... how could I not after what we've been dealing with for the past two weeks?!? The only thing that got me through it was being too spastic to properly tie a noose! :stupid:

Maybe above 40F and sunny on Christmas eve around here. Might be ridable in the early afternoon after any ice melts off pavement. With yestrday's warm temps and rain and hard freeze last night, there are many boilerplate ice patches to make decent riding impossible...unless you like sliding into snowbanks or oncoming traffic!!
