A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

After a recent shakedown run followed by some final tweaks and checking the tightness of all fasteners, my brother's GS650M that I have been getting road-ready again after a "slumber" of about 25 years, was ready to hit the road again!

My son and I had an enjoyable ride through the local vineyards now starting to show autumn colours.

I'll just put this here... Activating the warp drive on my buddies KTM Super Adventure.
FYI Not sure if anyone has picked out my patch on my jacket yet ;)

Good ole GS Resources patch i grabbed from Pano at Pillage's (RIP) memorial service last year.
Sewed on this year, wear with pride!+

Started off with an early and cold ride to Charmayne's work this morning with her:

and ended with getting the Bandit tagged/titled/parked in my driveway

I swear, this bike will get me into trouble with how smooth it is. I found myself doing 50 in a couple of 35mph zones without even feeling or realizing it. I do need to start wearing ear plugs again thanks to how noisy the air is off the shield but I hope it won't take away from hearing Charmayne on the headset.

As a side, both GS' are at our garage we share with a buddy of mine.

50 degrees this afternoon, overcast, not the rain as predicted... so: go for a ride.
Yah, on a Thursday afternoon!
Predicted freezing rain and maybe ice storms in next few days, so, yah, go for ride today. (But not get GK out yet)

Out for about an hour and a half ride.

Glad you got out, Dave. Ice storms coming???

It was 80? here today, supposed to drop to 50? tomorrow. Still warm enough to ride but I'm taking advantage of nice garage temps for maintenance stuff. Can't seem to get more than an hour or two for wrenching after work, then I'm zonked.

I did button up the KLR and took it to the end of the street an back. Does that count? LOL Had to come back and fill the radiator, then dinner was ready.

Congrats on the Bandit!!! The Full fairing looks great on it!
Yeah the mid rang torque of that bike is mind bending... So little throttle to go so fast.
Best,

Nice Dave!!!

I grabbed 50 miles in the Soaking rain... Lost cylinder 2 mid down pour... Brought it into the shop and it came back... I missed cleaning the spark plug wires... Bike is running great despite how frickin' old (and beat) it is.

HAHAHA
Any day that you can ride your motorcycle, is a good day!

Nice Dave!!!

Yah, was good to get out.

Maybe I should get a bike that is more suited to fun riding.
But this (was gotten for seat height and low weight concerns for wife to learn on) does serve well as a winter beater.

Old..... ? .... 98 ......

Yah, any ride that doesn't involve police or ambulances and that has bike and rider arrive-return in same condition as departed is a good ride.

Good to see an update on Charmayne riding.

Say, your Bandit 1250; is it the 1250 or is it the A that has more of the fairing.....?

It's the SA - ABS with the fairing you see; I have the top case and bags in the garage for now so I don't ruin them yet

Got out and enjoyed the warm weather last night.
Had a minor glitch at first though. I rode to the end of the street and the bike began running out of gas (full tank).
turns out the vacuum line for the petcock popped off during reassembly. Almost all smiles after that - someone tried to move into my lane on the highway.

The front end work feels good. A taughter ride then before, but in a good way.

Took a ride but in the cage. Winter will not let go up here. I live along the St. Croix river and in the spring time it is used by Bald Eagles as a migratory route. Seen at least 30 Eagles riding the air currents going through their mating rituals in midair. Great sight to see, sorry no pics.
