A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

Went for ride....?
Not this morning, was pretty good frost. But I am thinking will probably be the last.

Did get out for a ride this afternoon, sunny and calm and 50 degF. Did a couple errands.
Insurance agent said he was surprized to see bike pull in today, then he said "Ah, thats why you have year round coverage."

Then had a little ride out of town. Stopped at this boat ramp park on bayou of the river.

Should be getting some parts, maybe tomorrow, and others Saturday, to get back to work on the GK.

I did indeed, at lunch. Found a mtn pass road still covered in snow, and tons of blossoms in the orchards. The bike is absolutely stunning me, so smooth, such a great great bike. It seems to like being ridden more, making me think it had sat for a year or three before I bought it. It's like it's waking up, blowing out cobwebs, and getting back into shape.

KR, Welcome to TheGSR. Thanks for posting.
Lots of folks like the 1000s.

Nice pics of nice bike.
Wonder if you know why it has the smaller chrome headlight bucket...? Changed to halogen?

That second pic, especially, would seem to qualify for the Picture Of The Week game-contest in Campfire section. Because this week is: Spring Time, trees, flowers and such.

Done and done! Thanks Bob.

The smaller headlight ain't some bright new addition -- it was, I believe, necessary for the PO to install some kind of big fairing that didn't make it to me. This headlight kinda sucks... it's dim, it looks a little silly being so small, and when I put on the high beam at night, the high beam is aimed LOWER than the normal beam. But the headlight housing is right side up. Wonder if the sealed beam was installed upside down?

Snapped just after breakfast this morning while leaving Houghton Lake, Mi for the summer. "Where the wimmin are men, the men are animals and the animals are food"IMG_20190425_094733223.jpg

Nice ride today with the local www.cvmg.ca group. New seat cover, rear Hagons, Dart screen and throw over bags installed. Finally some above 10’C riding weather here in Toronto, Canada.

Yesterday (Sunday) some friends texted to ask if I wanted to borrow his wife's DR200 and go dirt biking just outside town. Huge trail system here, literally 5 miles from my house. HELL YES I do. My first time back on a dirt bike in over 20 years. Was soooo much fun.

That little 200.... after muscling my 1,000cc beast around, it was TINY. Felt like a bicycle. Just diving into turns, wringing its neck, basking in the space-shuttle-like thrust of 20 blistering horsepower as it slowly but inevitably climbed to its eye-watering top speed of 60 mph. In all seriousness, it's so much fun to wail on something small like that.

Just some shots from my ride in the other day... It was raining this morning.

Actually Sena 10C... I use it to capture Video and Pictures.... Hint it often takes crummy shots.

The voice control features are pretty awesome. Send and receive texts calls, turn music on or off, GPS turn by turn directions. Getting a Sena has been the best thing for my touring and media capturing needs.

OK then...
I'll just imagine you riding by, holding a full size Nikon D7 in your left hand, trying to push the shutter button....LOL....
HAHAHA I was hoping for a response like that... No I'm not that good or unsafe...
