DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

Low 50s, a little windy, but sunny today. (which is nicer than 40s rainy.)

Did some yard work, and went for little ride for lunch

I like thier Perch Sandwich.

GOt the bikes out of garage for a little garage clean up, before going for a longer ride.

THen though, should ride each today,.
Take one on little ride, come back take another, and back and take another.
and should have a name for that.
Maybe "Triple Play"... then I thought, No, should call it a "Trevor Ride".

But, later thought, would need four bikes for that.

Just wanted to share a bit about my trip home from San Diego last week. I spent a little time downtown before traffic got bad.

I went North on I-15 to Escondito, then took hwy 78 East eventually winding up on I-10. Took that to Phoenix then hwy 60 to Quemado, NM. picked up 36, then 117 and eventually I-40 which took me back to Albuquerque.

I got in touch with an FJR owner in San Diego on another forum who had a side case to replace one my son had damaged in Indiana. Pretty darn convenient since I was going to be there anyway. I rode to San Diego with only one so I could carry it home. He also loaded me up with some other parts, four different windshields and some mirrors. I had to go to the post office the next day to ship some of it. The left side case came open and scraped on the road. Luckily all of my stuff didn't wind up on the road. The outer shell came unglued is all. I had a roll of Gorilla tape and a few strips of that stuff held it till I got home.

I split the ride up into two days spending one night in Blythe, CA. Passed by the Imperial Sand Dunes again. This time I stopped to get a better look. I've got to come back and rent a side by side. Those things were everywhere. Long caravans of toy hauler trailers, every couple of miles there'd be bunches of them, like wagons around a campfire.

There was this odd sign posted to identify another nation. WTF is this? Maybe a joke? Looking it up online they seem pretty serious though.

Hwy 78 was a really nice ride through CA. I wish I had gone a bit South from Globe on 70 and ridden through Morenci again. It's been several years since Raygun, another GSR member, and I went that way. Such a fun ride!

60 was nice though. I turned around and rode the stretch through the Salt River Valley a couple of times, haha. Took a few pics before heading toward NM. After that it was slow going. Stop for coffee. Stop for layers. Stop for more layers and to thaw out. That was my fault for not putting all of my warm stuff on the first stop.

Thanks Roger. I love that sand dunes pic. It looks other worldly to this east coaster.

Otherworldly indeed! Like at any moment one of those ornithopter ships could buzz by.

I've been wanting to go back and visit White Sands National Park here in NM for some time. As a kid I had a board we used to slide down the dunes. I just hated the climb back up in the hot sun.

It snowed here yesterday, but I got out today for a 50 mile spin. It was 39 degrees when I left. 38 as I rolled the bike back into the garage.

I live in New Mexico currently, my friend.

Then that makes a big difference. I saw a guy riding a Harley this morning and the temperature was 37. Of course, he was not wearing the proper gear for those temps and he looked like he was freezing his go-nads off. Didn't even have a helmet on.

Went out for a 20 mile ride today. Just around the small town in which I now live. Temp was 45 or so, so not too bad compared to last week.

Recent weeks have been mostly in the 30s, some 20s, maybe low 40s but rainy.

Today, who-hoooo, upper 40s and partly sunny, a little breezy.... but pretty good for Dec 8th... and I am glad to be available to go for a ride on a Friday, hey! hey!

Got bike out... opps.... licence plate tab expired about 3 weeks ago (says NOV 2013).... I know I got an updated one, or so I thought, but wasnt finding it .... took me about 15 minutes to find it.

THen out for ride. Went out of town a ways.

THen back into town, for an errand, and then stopped at sandwich shop for lunch.
(Owner is harley rider, and I know he puts bike in a storage place in October hee hee hee)

THen thru town and past this beach overlook place, just to see the waves the wind is kicking up
JUPNFdk.jpg

(I know, you have seen this view before......)

THen out of town the other way, rode for a ways, circled around and headed back home.
Was good to get out for a couple hours. Should have had heavier gloves and other gear to have gone further/longer.
BAck to rainy weather tommorow.

Got in a short ride to look at Christmas lights around town last night. It was 30 degrees out, so I limited the ride to about 20 miles.
