A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Today? No.

Monday the 28th, Yes.
Was 44degF and mostly sunny. So got out for hour and half or so ride.
Was still some salt residue noticable on roadways.... otherwize would have taken the bike with better wind protection and heated grips.
Stopped at a coffee roaster in Spring Lake.

Most every day since has been sleet or snow.

Threw a new battery in the Bandit I just picked up and took it out today. Wow....it's quick and sounds awesome! Might be keeping it....:)

It looks nice. Looks like all the expensive upgrades have been done to it already (exhaust system....)
The Bandit, what a inexpensive Sport/Touring motorcycle.

I'm trying to get my older brother back into motorcycling. I'd like for him to ride with me to Colorado. The Bandit would be a perfect motorcycle for him. Buy it, ride it for the summer, then sell it and not loose a penny.

Yeah, maybe. I had a Gen1 silver Bandit 12. Loved that bike but it hurt my arms, Even after risers and several different bars

7 of us went out for a little ride...it was pretty nippy at only around 4c or 39 degrees...but sunny. We had a nice lunch in Sydney.

Or, you could just let your brother ride one of your 12 or 20 bikes:cool:......

After a few days of 5degF and several 15degF and some 25degF, and many days of snowing and blowing and many days of barley seeing the sun .... Saturday afternoon was partly sunny and 35degF... Roads wet from snow melt and some roads still slushy in places (I had been out earlier and noticed which roads to avoid).

Hey! Hey! Seemed like a opportunity for a January Ride.

Biggest problem was slush at end of driveway.

Rode into town. Swung by an overlook to see how far out Lake Michigan froze.
And stopped downtown. Winterfest going on, including volleyball tournment and fire pits for hotdog roasting.

Febuary is usally the harder month to find occassion for a ride.

So, what do you winter riders do with the salt on the road? I have been itching for a ride, and we have had some nice weather on the Westcoast here (Vancouver) BUT there is brine and salt on the roads. And no rain for weeks to wash it away. And of course, the house water is off... so what are you guys doing to preserve your bikes?

Did a 240km ride yesterday…I wash my bikes after afterwards. Easy. Why is your water shut off in Vancouver?
