    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I am gathering info for a fuel injection setup for the GS1000. I need to find out some measurements for the stock carbs, and am not at the point of removing mine yet.

If you have a set that is off the bike, please measure them per the attached picture and let me know the measurements.

Thanks in advance.

.....................hi i was reading ,,,,where a guy had used standard ..kaw,, throttle bodie set ups straight off 1000/1100 late model ... it could be worth a look regards oldgrumpy:):):)

Do 8 valve and 16 valve engines have the same spacing? I've got a set off an 8 valve engine I can measure for you later this evening.

Here's what I get from a 82 GS1100G, 8 valve engine. My research tells me it's the same as our 80 GS1000G's. I had checked out the spacing once before cause I'm thinking about swapping my spare 1100 engine into my 1000. I know they use the same choke rod so the spacing must be the same.

267=292
38=36
42=52
37=42
30=35

That would be the GPZ1100, which is a popular conversion from what I've read. The problem is that it is expensive and also 30+ years old.

Your measurements are the same or off by 1mm of the 1100E measurements above, so it looks like they are the same. Thanks for providing the info. I have diagrammed them out and posted in the mods section here. The GPZ1100 Kawasaki is closest, but the GSXR600 is the same on-center for 1-2 and 3-4, so if the center section can be easily modified, that is what I'll likely do. The parts are newer and a lot cheaper.

Can the fuel tee be shortened just enough? Can you ream the holes in the backing plate and shift things a bit..or slice the required amount out of the center of the plate to let them move? Then maybe have the plate TIG welded back solid once all is repositioned? Just throwing things up to see what sticks to the ceiling here.

Based on what I'm reading here, it sounds like any carb bank that will fit on the 1100e will fit on the 1100g 8 valve head, correct?

I have a set of the GSXR600 intake boots, the throttle bodies are on the way, and my GS1100G head will be here today so I'll be able to see how close everything is at that point. I'm not going to update this thread any further since the actual upgrade thread is linked in post #8 above.

I can't say for sure on the E vs G carbs, but it appears they are very close if not the same.

Yes 1980 on they will. They will fit on the 1000G too. The air jet on the 1100e carb banks (the fixed one in the mouth of the carb) is smaller on the 1100e (Actually it is the same size as the bush that Dynojet give you to put into the 8v carbs when you fit their kit).

I ran an 1100E set of carb bodies on a 1000g. I did swap over all the jets (except for that fixed one). I ran it both stock & modified with that jet, didn't appear to make much difference, bike ran great either way.
