A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

That popping sound is good to hear but since I started going tubeless on my 79 1000E wheels, I never get a "pop" sound. They do seem to seal up OK, just not the pop I would like to hear. I believe I am on my 3rd set of tires without tubes and no problems yet.

I was popless as well. I sprayed both beads with soapy water and put on the ratchet strap. I did over inflate and then come down to spec thinking it would help seat. Just an intuition thing with no basis. I brought it up to about 38lbs then lowered it to 29. The beads just kind of slipped into position with no sound. Will admit .. I was a little disappointed.

Pretty normal; they usually sort of ooze into place with no pop on wheels converted to tubeless.

Huh! well well that's interesting. The BT45s went onto my 650 tubeless rims with POPS (front and back). The Avon roadriders didn't on the same rims and their beads leaked after a month or so...trying to clean them up and reset them did not last long. (and they started to microcrack... )

the Hondas(tubeless alloy rims) with Duros and Shinkos popped. I think even the gsx400E (alloy non-tubeless rims) with tubes inside the next set of Duro tubeless tires popped...

I don't think the "pop" means anything. I've put tires on bikes, cars, trucks, tractors, & sometimes they pop, sometimes they just ease out. There should be a line, or strip, on the tire, within 1/4" or less, from the edge of the wheel. Spin or roll the wheel & be sure this line is a uniform distance from the wheel, all the way around. If that little line gets slightly closer to the rim at any point, at that point, the tire is not completely seated. Just my opinion.
