    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Battery Electrolyte Question

This is a little off topic, but I just received a battery for a little old Honda Twinstar. I didn't put much thought into it and ordered it from the fiche of powersportspro.com Well, it was delivered to day and of course it needs electrolyte to get it going as it ships dry. Where can I get electrolyte locally perhaps? There's a Batteries Plus in my town. I would imagine they have it, but you never now these days. Most stores don't seem to stock much of anything these days that's even remotely outdated. Home Depot? Radioshack? Make it myself somehow?
 
I would think Batteries Plus or a auto parts shop would be able to do something for you. Might give them a shout.
 
Any auto parts place. $5 at Autozone the other day for enough to fill a car battery.
 
+1 on the auto parts stores. My local AutoZones and Advance Auto Parts and Napa's all carry containers of battery acid.
 
you should only buy interstate batteries. yuasa is a second chioce.

otherwise you are just asking for trouble.
 
I recently bought a BikeMaster battery and it came WITHOUT the electrolyte but I was able to get the electrolyte at O'Reillys Auto Parts, they were the only ones who had it and all they had was a gallon, only cost me like eleven dollars.
Luckily I had all that left over electrolyte. turns out that the piece of crap brand new battery I bought lasted only six months and would no longer hold or take a charge because the cells had gone bad. I know it's not the right thing to do but I pulled out my old Yuasa battery which was replaced by the piece of crap BikeMaster and poured out the battery acid and replaced it with new electrolyte, so far it's been running fine for about four months.

Like trippivot said, "buy Interstate Batteries," I know that the clock is ticking on my current battery but when it starts to go south I'm buying an Interstate!

Got mines at O'Reillys too. Except I bought a 1 liter for $8.
