A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hey yo! Meant to post last week. My set arrived. No muss. No fuss. Thanks!!

where do I sign up?, and what info do you need from me?
if they do indeed fit a 78, 1000
at that price I can't afford not to buy them ;)

I had to leave the country for a little while. I'll post up when I'm back and resume sales then. Sorry, but I can't give more info than that due to opsec.

Ohlins

Ohlins

Looking for a set of Ohlins for my 82 GS 1100E rebuild, Are they still available?

Thanks

Joe

How well do they work?
How's the ride?
How's the handling?

Worlds apart. Ohlins are spendy but worth it even if you don't push the bike because they dial in a LOT better for every day riding. Much less harshness. Smoothe, oh my!

Only thing is, if you get them, you need to upgrade the front end. New springs, minimum, because otherwise only half the ride is good and you will notice which end stinks.

Posplayr rides well enough to make me think about shelling out for them when they become available again....

Dan :)

I just wanted to post an update so you know I haven't forgotten about anyone. I'm currently out of the country still and will be for a little while longer. For those of you patiently waiting, thanks for doing so. For what it's worth, I didn't know I was going to be leaving so I didn't really have time to prepare for it.

I can coordinate shipping to NZ, but I can't confirm the application for you. I'm sure somebody here can though so I hope they can speak up. Failing that I would say to contact Ohlins via email or phone to confirm the application first. I can start putting together a list any time really, but generally, we like to have ten before we order so that we don't have extra stuff on hand. So to answer your question, whenever we have at least ten, I'll put in an order.

Count me in as one of those next ten, please. If I need to email you ahead of time, let me know! :)

No worries, there's plenty of room right now. I will post when I return.

Thanks for that. I will ask around regarding fit to GS1100G

I just saw this thread for the first time and I am glad that I perused it.

This gentleman has unselfishly performed a wonderful service by supplying an excellent product to many of us at an excellent price and he should be commended for this.

The list of models at the beginning of this thread includes the GS1000L, thus I thought that I too might jump in and get a pair (please don't laugh at the thought of putting Ohlins shocks an 'L' model - it no longer has the dumbass stock bars and I CAN ride).

But then I read that the one and only disgruntled participant had his problems because he bought a pair to put on a GS1000G. And my bike, while it is known as a 1000L, is actually a 1000GL. They made some 1000L's that were chain driven and some 1000GL's (the 'G', of course, denotes that it is a shafty) in different years. That application list at the beginning of this thread is not entirely clear as far as which year 'L' models these will fit, but apparently it includes the ones that have chains, not shafts!

Mr. Colin Green, I strongly suggest that you thoroughly re-read this thread and reconsider whether it is something in which you (and your model bike) can be included. Understand please that I have no interest other than that I would hope to avoid problems for you, for our friendly and helpful marine buddy here, and for the apparently overworked and occasionally abused Amber (I hope she's as cute as her name).

This doesn't seem to be a deal that 'G' or 'GL' owners can be a part of or should try to horn in on, just like if it was a great offer on high quality chains and sprockets!

Thanks for adding that highmileage, that was a good catch about the GL and you are correct, these are for the chain drive only bikes.

I also appreciate the kind remarks as well. Thanks!!!

Thanks for pointing that out... I was half contemplating them for my G as well... I guess the skunk can still have them though!

Dan :)

Wooops. Amber/Autumn... Either way I hope she's as cute as....

I'm not really good with names, and if I'm that bad with female names, imagine how terrible I am when it comes to remembering guys' names (although I never forget a bike, funny how that works...)

I guess that's why we have words like 'sweetheart', 'hun', etc.

So any idea how long until this ball gets rolling again? Essentially, how long from today would I have to wait for a pair of these? Trying to decide if I still want to wait or if I wanna go another route. Thanks!

Sorry, but I can't give you a date as I am not at liberty to discuss where I am or for how long. When I get back I will post and then you can expect 30-60 days beyond that for delivery. I wish I could make a post for a sign up list or something and that would make it easier. That way I could put the order in as soon as I get back and that would speed things up for everybody.

You can do it with a poll... I did, be aware that people sign up without intention to buy though!!

Dan :D
