If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Has anyone got the size for the camchain tensioner seal. Suzuki doesn't supply them. I am just trying to stop the leaks on the tensioner. One leak was the tiny O ring that is fitted .

The weird thing was that it isn't on the part fiche when I looked at the tensioner. I don't know how he has found that partnumber but the size seems about right to me. I did have a look at this article before but when I asked the dealer about the seal for the tensioner they said that it wasn't possible to get a seal for it as they didn't have one on the parts fiche which was correct.
But I will see if I can get a seal of that size. Thanks as I I needed to find the link to the article again.

I don't know why Suzuki didn't include those numbers on the fiche. But Tom and Bwringer are definitely right. I've rebuilt two tensioners in the last month using those part numbers.

As Bwringer says in his tutorial, 'I offer no guarantees as to what sort of confusion this will cause the parts monkeys at your local dealership. The descriptions for these part numbers won't seem to relate to the model or assembly. They will probably mutter darkly and curse you bitterly, but be firm.'

I got mine from a good local bearing and seal place. It was about 1,5 Euro. I can't be doing with Suzuki dealers anymore around here they are hopeless.

You guys aren't retired "parts monkeys" are you? :-k

It took longer to upload the picture to PhotoBucket than it did to find it.

From Parts Outlaw, '83 550E Cam Chain fiche, parts 13 and 14:

I'm guessing I didn't see it because I didn't look at a fiche for a 16-valve 550.

Well, the original poster listed 82/84 550E. There was no "E" in '82, so I went to '83/'84.

The original part number of that seal (15 on the pic) is: NOK AG0241 13.22

I found a replacement seal locally here on the west coast Canada (Richmond BC) at
Fluidseal INC
13680 Bridgeport Road #5
Richmond BC V6V 1V3

tel. 604 278 6808

It cost me for one seal just over 5 dollars Can.
the replacment part number was: S0100160040tc

That translates to the parts size in MM. It is 10.00 X 16.00 X4.00

The only difference from the NOK part is a spring installed inside the seal.
Hope this might help someone...
