A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Cavalcade brakes

Haven't done brake work in a while but I'm cleaning all three calipers on this just bought 86 Cavalcade. They aren't too bad,no rusty fluid.. Seems like the pucks are way too tight going back together. I thought pucks just slid freely in and out. Using air took a lot of pressure to pop them out.Feels like when it's all back together the pucks wont retract. Plus have new rotors and pads should be here tomorrow.

Did you remove the o-rings to clean the grooves they sit in? Just a little bit of crud in the groove will make the o-ring grip a bit harder on the piston. Also make sure to lube the o-ring with brake fluid and ONLY brake fluid.

After going back and forth with D2 moto who sent me the wrong brake pads I decided to keep them cause they were the right ones for my GS. So,onto EBC pads for the Cavalcade. F- for customer service. They don't want to actually talk to a customer I guess. Twice on 800-Muzak hold for 20 minutes each time no one answered. Email sent and they came back saying you have to phone in.Finally got in after almost an hour and this very pleasant off shore order taker(she said India) took my order. That was last Tues. or Wed. No email by Fri. of confirm or tracking. Didn't dare call. I sent a scathing email Mon. I get a computer gen email yesterday morning saying my pads were delivered to my mailbox last Sat. That's all I'll ever buy from EBC. I'm out.

New pads put in and now comes the bleeding. Oh fun.

Believe it or not, but Harbor Freight sells a really good vacuum bleeder for like $30. You hook it to your air
compressor. Makes bleeding a breeze. Basically they copied the Motion Pro unit that sells for $100

I would say the issue is with D2 Moto...and not EBC...

Where did you buy the EBC pads? AFAIK, they don't sell direct in the US.

FWIW, I usually just keep an eye out for the EBC pad numbers I need on fleaBay or Amazon. They pop up with excellent discounts quite often.
