DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

CB 650 project

An interesting project that I will be keen to follow as I have just been given one of these to play with.

I do have one question....well maybe a couple. Why that bike for this type of project? It is sure to be a good looker when you are done but I don't think the mill will produce enough "oomph" to work the suspension mods. Is there to be any engine upgrade for performance or is to be "rolling art".

Colour me curious.

Not sure why he wants this done only here to do the work. He owns 17 bikes everything from cafe twins to an r1 including a nice gs750 in Barry Sheene paint and a 86 gsxr750 slabside. I think this one would be a fun track bike and he admits it may be rolling art like you said.

Look'N good. Agreed on the 650 mill but to each their own. One thing is for sure, the suspension alone, will turn that into a whole different bike.

Keep up the GREAT work.

Ai caramba, that is one robust seat mount my friend. That is not going anywhere for sure. So what is next on the agenda? do you have a timetable and expected delivery date? Are you commissioned to do the whole build, including paint or just the mechanicals and mods?

I'm looking forward to seeing how this turns out.

Took it to welder yesterday for finish welding it will be off to mediablast and powdercoating tomorrow. I have been given the tasks of fabrication, then assembly and get it up and running after that he will take body parts for painting. Should be up and running by spring. March-April

Any update available? I was just wondering how things are coming.

Cheers,

Frame is off to powder coat he texted me today said its done. Been working on mounting lights in back of seat/tailpiece will post pics of that probably tomorrow. Thanks for your interest.

The lights and plate are mounted. The one that came with the lights was too short for the turnsignals to clear so I made a taller one. Also made it a little thicker.

Tonight was brake cleaning time and wow worse that I hoped for. It did clean up nicely and the pistons look great.

Owner brought the engine to me tonight so I had him help me set it in. The next picture is an example of the paint scheme red front and back and the silver sided tank.
