A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Got the fairing on last night and today it started and ran for a few then had some electrical gremlins reappear. Grr Hondas

Taillights and signals all wired in with a disconnect. Waiting on all new carb jets stock low speed jets just not enough, and it had three 122 mains and one 125. Just the carb sorting out left and this should be done soon.

So I got new jets for the carbs found some bowl screws had the threads stripped out and someone attempted a repair . It ran good but leaked fuel so off to eBay searching for another set. Found some he had to bid all the way up to $122 but we got them today. Good news all the treads are excellent. Bad news you can see how bad the inside were. A before and after pic. Now once I get them back together can't finish them till new bowl orings show up.

Oh that is a messy carb. Haven't seen one that bad for awhile. Now the stripped out carb threads is a common Honda issue I am finding and I'm experiencing it myself on two carbs. I am contemplating trying Alumiweld to fill the holes then retap them but I don't know if it will bond with the casting metal. Worth a try I guess.

I have been trying to resource a new rack of carbs for a few weeks now but no luck so far. And being basically "frugal" I could pay $122 for a rack but not for one carb.

This has held me up and I'm stalled until I can get this sorted.

Looks like you are almost done and it looks really good. The owner must be really happy and eager to get blasting around.

Can't wait to see her all done and buttoned up.

Cheers.

We did get the whole each for $122. Yes both of us are getting excited about getting it done and ridding it.

Got the float bowl orings today and yes the carbs have no leaks finally. Buttoned up most of the loose ends today. Got it turned so I could put the hrc sticker on left rear and get a look at that side from more than 2' away. Tomorrow's plan is to ride it.

The Honda is finally gone home. After being basically done in June carb issues, gearing all wrong, mirror change , schedule clashing have delayed him taking it home but today it happened. And he brought me one of his other bikes for some maintenance, its a GS so I'll start a GS project thread with a picture
