I sure don't know but I did wonder why my oil would look so bad so quickly. I was also wondering how long it would take to get that bad. It's not the original stator but was in when I bought the bike two years and three thousand miles ago.

I don't think the brown stuff is JB Weld... both JB Weld quick and JB Weld regular are gray when mixed. It might be some other JB Weld product but not the normal epoxy kept in most tool boxes. Hard to imagine the purpose of that brown glop though...

I have no idea what that brown stuff is or why the PO did that.It was hard like an epoxy.Come to think of it I've never seen brown/tan epoxy. That's a goody to bobtail84:clap:

My dad used go use some sort of epoxy that cured to a tan color. It smelled awful.
