A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

De-stinking Penelope

Received a package from South Africa this past Saturday. I guess the maker of this tee shirt has quite the sense of humor!

funny Stan, very funny! :D I laughed my butt off when I opened the package.

how did you ever think to come up with something like this?

I want me one of these.

Excellent Stan!

Dale,
The next pictures must have you in it with the T-shirt! I love it!

Okay Dale, break time is over! Where is our update.:-#

There isn't one... Sorry, been busy getting things situated outside so we're ready for winter. cutting down dead trees, making another cabinet for the basement as I type and getting things in place for my sons up coming wedding. I still need to get my '82 up to my Sons place before the snow flies, move the Shelby, get started welding up the fuel tank so I can remove the dents and reline the inside of it.

I did get the 300M all fixed up. a $31.50 used TCM fixed it right up. :D

Sorry it's been a bit, but with a wee bit of a nudge from a certain forum member, I started getting the gauges sorted out last night and resetting the speedo's mileage to match what originally came on the bike. as you can see I have several pieces to choose from thanks to Greg Wasserott and Steve E. oh, and that's not all the gauges I have, one set appears to be missing. it must be in one of the boxes out in the garage

at the moment I have two tach's apart so I can change the original gauges face to something a bit more respectable than was on it. sometime later on this week I'll strip the gauge cluster bracket and repaint it, then I can start to reassemble them.

I've used S-100 Engine Brightener on the gauge faces when I cleaned up mine. Made them look brand new.

Thanks mike! I might try that on one of the gauges I have left over.

one of the reasons I took them apart was so I could use the best of the faces I had available. I have two that are in excellent shape already.

Ek het begin dink jy gaan nooit by die fiets uit kom nie.

It gives them that "slightly moist" look that's so dish in fresh, high-quality plastics.

Neat. So how does one go about taking these gauges apart, curious because I have a screw bouncing around in my tachometer?

Dale..SOOO glad to see that your being selfish enough to actually do something for your projects for a change...not that all the things you do to help others and the family is wrong. You truly deserve the time to work on the bike. Just out of curiosity..will she be ready in the spring (MI spring) which is around May????

Now you are talking! I was wondering when you would start on it again.
Knowing you and recalling some earlier pictures and now seeing your collection of gauges - The logistical wizard is present there again!;)

Stretch the restore out as long as you can and get the most enjoyment you can out of it!:)

+1 Dale, nice to see this happening again, your work is always top notch so it's a pleasure to watch :)

And thanks for the nudge Ed!
