A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

De-stinking Penelope

Dale,
I must apologize as I only picked up on your thread today. I think I need a bit of an oil change or a tuneup as this is not the first time I have missed important things!;)
Andre, I suspect the problem really lies with having to many irons in the fire at one time.

I'm pleased with how it turned out so far. still you can bet I will be replacing a few parts that were rusted a bit badly.

Love ya work again Dale, and Ed's got it there... oooh shiny indeed :D

Leaves my brushed on POR 15 Blackcote for dead!

Ed, Pete, thanks! it really does look that shiny in person. it has about the same amount of peel as the average new car has. still I think I've met the limit to what I can do with the 1.4mm tip on my knock off. in order for me to take it to the next level, I'm going to need to go to a 1.2~1.3mm tip. unfortunately, they don't make one for my astro. :(

More shiney bits I have accumulated in the past year

Wow Dale, that thing is gonna be sweet when you're done! All those nice shiny parts just waiting...

Gotta love the comraderie of this forum :D

Drool! Drool!

Dale you still haven't lost your touch! You are definitely a logistical expert! Those are very valuable treasures!
Maybe you should put your talents to finding lost treasures such a gold bullion etc!

Pete, yes I do. it's got to be one of the best forums out there for that reason alone.

Funny you should say that... I thought those pipes were as close as you could get to gold considering they were taken off a bike when it was one year old!

kudo's go out to Ed for the lead... :D

Dale, this is going to be another master piece, I can just see it, damn, the bar has been raised yet again.

Stan, after seeing Larry (nvr2old), Ed and Andre's work (among others), I'm absolutely positive the bar can't be raised any higher than it already had been set. all I can do is hope it comes close.

Hi Pete, ya it quite disheartening, I look at these wonderful creations taking shape, and realize that despite all the long hours of hard work, being meticulous to a fault and and painstaking attention to detail (seems to me anyway) to put together a bike that is going to be as perfect as you can get and an example of what a pristine bike looks like, (To me anyway) is going to look like nothing more than a daily driver compared to what Dale and Ed and some of the other boys put out there. :(
But it is there work that keeps me inspired.

This is going to be a rebuild from the bare frame up, Jennifer is an '81 GS1000G, original colours were black with red and burnt orange, she is going to be rebuilt back to original condition and colour scheme, except for a few very minor details that will change just to enhance her cometic appearence, this is going to be the sweeeeeeetest GS on this mudball we call earth.
Stan, Sorry but I'll have to hold you to your words. I expect nothing less from you!

Oh no you've done it now Stan! :p

I wonder can we kidnap Larry, fly him to your place and then mine to get our paint jobs done? Then we'll be laughin'! ;)

Of course I don't know that Larry will be laughin'...

Larry isnt going anywhere till he gets my second skunk and the 78 1000C tank i sent done..after that hes fair game!! And Stan..We havent gotten close as friends, but we do kinda know each other from here. I am confident youll do a superb job with your bike. Theres lots of different tastes and "looks" that people, like. So long as your fits your taste and vision it will be perfect.

Well spoken Chuck! and that's all that matters.

(but I'm still going to push Him as far as I can ;) )

I dont know what the general forum concensus on my work is, but to me they all look beautiful. I get a lot of compliments from people at gas stations and stuff, so i must have done a fairly decent job.

Haha you're a good pair! :D

I'll give you a shove from here too Stan and I expect the same in response from all of ya'!

Yes Chuck, you do good stuff too! There are definitely a lot of mighty fine examples on here that include yours, Dale's, Larry's, Ed's, and a bunch of others (can't name everyone) that all inspire me to do the best I can with what I've got too.

My main goal at the moment is to not let that awesome shiny Tranzac pipe down with my paint...
