Chuck, I'm going to take the parts into work a little at a time to wash them up so I can inspect them properly. I still need to measure the cylinder bores today and some time later this week, break down the cylinder head. After that I'll be able to assess the damages properly. I still need to figure out if my sand blaster will work well using glass beads so I can 'de'-corrode the cases.
You know what you can do in the mean time if you'd like, get a price on shipping the complete engine and ask Randy if He has a crank that's already removed from an engine.
If this thing only needs a crank and He doesn't have one that's removed, I'll find a source for one rather than you breaking down an engine for just a crank.
Like the rest of the components, I'll measure the chain and make a decision weather or not to replace it.
I work s l o w l y... but methodically. Plus I've still got to finish the wall in the back bedroom and put front brakes on Marys car.
