A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

My wife relented and let me get a Marving Race 4-1 after years of asking(note relented means taking her shopping with a free run on the credit card). In my opinion the best pipe around to fit on a GS (also have one fitted to my CB1100F).

Got it fitted today - music to die for.

That is lovely Hamp. How much was it BTW? Wish I could find someone from the UK who was going to visit the States who would bring one over for me.

Russ I got lucky on Ebay for ?150 BIN - only done a handful of miles and as good as new plus the seller was only down the road from me.

Exactrep sell them for ?295 at the moment (they've come down in price - the Europeans are still up in the mid / high 400 Euro range):

When they were up in the ?300 plus bracket I emailed the Marving factory in Italy to see if they would sell direct but they only sell through agents over here. They might sell to the US though. Worth asking:

By the way, the sales stuff says that you lose the centre stand (you don't and I didn't on my CB1100F) and that there is restricted access to the oil filter - slightly true in that it is more restricted than original but there's still plenty of room.

Maybe I'll have to bring me one of those back.... I'd definitely swap my Yoshi for one of those!
Actually I have a pilot mate who could freight it over for me next time he comes this way....

It looks like it, but I have to ask, is that a 4-1 with a flat collector instead of the usual 2+2 stacked collector?

Thinking of it as a potential exhaust for my gsxr parts swap project.

AFAIK, all of the Marvings are mild steel.... available either with chrome, or black finish. Never heard one yet, but they supposedly sound very nice.

In that case..... how does the chrome stand up to the English weather? :)

Do they do well or like my V&H start to show some small signs of suffering (I live by the sea) after 3 years or so?

very nice pipes for a very nice ride. Can't wait to see/hear the youtube video. This post is just the thing I needed to read. I recently picked up a 78 1000 as a spare and it came with a Marving race exhaust in pretty decent shape. Very stoked now. Have you done anything to the carbs to adjust for the pipes?

Off topic I know but it might help someone reading this thread. Hindle still has a few of their pipes that fit the oil cooled GSX-R750. First generation and the last generation oil cooled pipes are available. These will fit the '83 and up 700/750E models. They have the header and midpipe in stainless and they are spring mounted. They are 4>2>1 headers that help with ground clearance as well. You can use any 2" inlet can with them. They're on sale for $299 Canadian. I bought one about a year ago and it cost $354 Canadian to the door. I don't remember what the real total was after the exchange rate.

They can hook you up if you email them, they have to special order them but its the only US dealer I could find.

Once fitted is the Marving written on the can facing the sky? Seems to be the way it wants to fit on mine....

Seems a bit odd how they placed the baffle bolts if so plus where they stated and finished the welds.

Looks like your baffle bolts are same, one on top, one on the outside. :)
