    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hi would gsxr750 pistons work in the gs750?
The pistons on my 86 engine is 70.2mm in Diameter.
Do the use different wristpins or rods?

Best bet is to watch for an 816 kit on Ebay. They show up once in awhile.

Follow Billy Rick sugestion. But if u must use GSXR pistons u need to look at the bore size piston stroke and wrist pin size. Remember engine size is not based only on piston diamiter but on piston diamiter and piston stroke. Just check with ur local Suzuki dealer about the specks.

I have used 1982 1000SZ Katana pistons in my 83 GS750ED in the past. I knew a guy that used to own a cycle salvage yard back in the 80's and used to get parts cheap. They were 69.4mm (2.4mm) over stock and with the stock 53mm stroke boosted displacement to 802cc. Everything bolted right up- used the Kat 1000 rings and pins. The only problem was that they were domed and bumped compression up to 11.25-1. This was borderline too high for the stock combustion chamber creating heat and detonation problems when run on pump fuel. I am now going with the wiseco 816cc set- this is designed at 10.25-1 which is perfect for a street bike. With the cost of boring and rings, I would say to buy the wiseco set that is designed for your bike. Good Luck, Ed.

I will look in to the different options available for me.
I guess the wiseco kit would be the way to go.
Since I have a 86 750gs engine sitting here I will have to figure out whats the best approach.
I do have gsxr750 engine from a 86 as well and the engine mounts look identical to the Gs.

Still I guess you get the most bang for the buck with the 1 L engine:)

it would cost less to put in a 1 ltr than to buy to fast parts to get the same HP.
and the 1 ltr is just beginning where the 750 with go fast parts is just about done.
 
If the '86 runs put it in. They were fairly stoutly built. You may even get by running your stock ignitor. You can find great pipes for them on Ebay. A set of Slingshot carbs or flatslides if you can swing the money. Nice cams show up on Ebay too for them. I'd be thinking about suspension mods to go with the swap.
