DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hi retro!
Always like a build thread.
Always learning something new from them.
Looking forward.

Looking forward to watching the build. What's the plan for the bike? Restore, customize, etc?

Great bike. Looks like an '82. Lots of potential there.

Tuning in Wassa... when you're done you'll have to come riding with us!

won't be a fast build guys have a KZ440 twin on the bench ATM that i have to finish to sell but that will help finance this one as well

as for style won't be stock but no major frame mods either just start at the front and work back from their and see how she styles up from their.

If Tim (landshark) is still around he's got a GS1000 and is down your way somewhere... only managed to catch up with him the once so far though and he was in the 4WD...

cool will try and sort something out

just sold my gt550 to help pay for mods on gs so shes out the door on sat

(evil grin) unless i buy a old police bike ive just been offered XJ900 mmmm

oh if you didn't know my part time work is buying and selling old pre 90s bikes

i love my second job

Aaaah your second job sounds quite awesome! When I have funds I'll be in the market for a Kat... that'll be a while away yet...

get a few of them but mostly the 650 750 ones mate
but yes let me know i get atleast 5 to 10 calls a week on bikes but can't buy em all

got a xs650 two weeks ago and sold it within 4 days lol love those old bikes but just to dam small

Nice! And yeah the 650's and 750's always seem to be around... but I'm leaning towards an 83 or later 1100 at the moment but that all depends on what happens. As I said I'm a while away from that :)

hey wassa
just to say gday,

great bikes them gs1100g`s see you on the rides

cheers John

LOL get this was told the parts missing where as previous threads just took starter motor cover of mm what's inside and starter motor and guess what else it works ggggrrr have one in the mail on the way up. Some times POs are a pain in the A s lol

well we have compression
Comp test done as is with old oil 145 - 145 - 150 - 135 psi from left to right

waiting on carbies and clutch basket to arrive to be installed so i can see if she wants to run.

Hahah bloody typical!

Those figures look pretty good for an engine that's been sitting... should be good once you get some life in there!
