A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Just a quick Hi to introduce myself. I have an old RGV frame and wheels etc, and one day found an article about a GS racer with GSXR head. After a few beers and playing with a tape measure, I hatched a plan................

Interestingly tight....The final drive sprocket and swing arm pivot need to be as close to level as you can get them.
With the finning cut back as much as it appears to be, an oil cooler would probably be wise - but it's very hard to do on the twins.
Have you got the width in the frame for the carbs ?

Hi Greg, I just cut the fins on a scrap engine to see how much room there was, and guesstimates from my Bandit suggest that with an oil cooled head, it should be possible. I have the old RGV crankcases, and I'm trying to match the sprocket location, and see how much room there is. To do this the rear/top crankcase on the clutch side needs a chunk taking out, and the rear top mounts on the frame need to come off (need new one's anyway).
So now the question is what to do to the motor? I've been looking around for idea's, such as a GR650 crank, going back to roller bearings (older GS cases) so I can build up a 270 degree crank?, finding a bandit head, gsx1400 barells, ..........the possibilities are many, but maybe I should just aim low for now, and get something running for a cheap track-day bike. Not sure about fuelling yet, one step at a time!

Just happen to have a RGV frame laying around? Huh Huh....cool. If your willing to try to stuff a GS500, your engine choices are many. YZ450F = 50 hp? Banshee = 100HP
